Dr. Jeffery Soldatis, MD

The office staff - very unprofessional. Dr Soldatis did meet with me for a Knee injury (severe pain / swelling and unable to bear any weight) and after discussions, was told that I was showing the symptoms of a torn tendon - which one for sure - won't know until tests completed and also showing signs of a possible blood clot. Was sent for a veinous ultrasound to rule out blood clots, was told that I needed x-rays and then if the blood clot was ruled out and the x-ray didn't show anything that an MRI would be done next. X-rays negative, veinous ultrasound negative. Next should be the MRI - correct? NOPE! Got a v/m from his office that an order for Physical Therapy would be sent! If this is a possible tear - physical therapy is not going to help!!! PA was in the room with Dr Soldatis and all information supposedly recorded by the PA. NO DIAGNOSIS was given. Very unhappy with treatment from OrthoINDY - staff and physicians.

Dr. Soldatis performed a shoulder replacement for me and 5 months ago and my shoulder is now really good. He handled all the workers comp paperwork (which was applicable) and it was all handled in the time fram he gave me. He has hired a PA which is simplifying follow-up information. Once you get through the OrthoIndy phone system Dr. Soldatis if pretty easy to reach.

The only reason he is getting one star instead of no stars is you have to give one to post a review. If I could give NO stars that is what my true rating would be. I would NOT recommend Dr Soldatis for any type of shoulder surgery ....especially the Mumford procedure. ALSO his entire staff are either unprofessional, inadequate, rude or all of the above. I knew in the very beginning when calling to schedule my appointment that I should NOT go this office since right from the beginning Tammy, a person I asked about if they took my insurance, was argumentative and didn't have the correct knowledge on MY insurance. I should of ran then but no I gave them another try and actually talked to Dr Soldatis....Tammy argued with me that I HAD to get a referral even though I mentioned over and over that I didn't have to get one...this was round one of her argueing with me about getting a referral (when they actually scheduled my surgery it took 2 weeks and when I called back again they said they… were waiting on a referral, even though I said over and over I didn't have to get referrals)....she did this over and over again. Even after speaking to not only her supervisor but the supervisor over her supervisor she was still rude, argumentative and unprofessional. The only thing Dr Soldatis did was operate on me...I say it that way because that is where his care ended....I saw him 4-5 times more the whole time telling him that my shoulder wasn't getting better and it hurt to a point that would bring tears to your eyes if moved this way or that way and he never cared to address it....all he wanted to do was give me narcotic pain medicine which I didn't want....I wanted him to address why my shoulder was throbbing. He never did anything to address my issues, even after I said I thing something is wrong with my shoulder and saying to him "I feel that if I have to be put back on narcotics 2 months after surgery that something is seriously wrong with my shoulder, and asked him to MRI it).....he said let ME be the surgeon.....I let him be the surgeon....hence he cut on me but he didn't know how to be a doctor. DO NOT have any work done by this doctor. If you have any type of complications he will NOT do anything to see what is really wrong with you....he just throws controlled pain meds at you and says have a good day. An end note.....I went to see two other doctors, had an MRI with contrast and they said I had frozen shoulder and a SLAP tear.....this man is in a helping profession but is the most unhelpful doctor I have ever been to. I have been in horrible pain for 3 months since my operation from him. He made my pain in my shoulder worse and I don't have range of motion (ROM)....even ortho indy's little physical therapist said he didn't understand why I was still doing mostly strength exercise and no ROM exercises. He is just NOT a good, competent doctor and go to him at your own risk. I also got cortisone injections from my new doctor so that I could deal with the pain while they try to clean up Dr Soldatis's mess. At one point I even was prescribed medicine that I was allegic to because his inadequate staff didn't have down my allergies even though they had been told on numerous occations. The only reason that I didn't take this medication and have a horrible reaction....and maybe even died was because my pharmacist flagged it and told me NOT to take this medication since I was allergic to it. He called me in, not one by two different medications that have sulfa in them which I put down that I was allergic to. Later one of his staff said "oh we didn't even have that in our system". Your sitting there thinking wow glad I didn't die. Please do not go to this dr....he made me worse after seeing him and definitely didn't help me. He will make your shoulder worse than before you saw him. My new doctor told me if I hadn't of had the MRI and saw that my shoulder was frozen and had extreme physical therapy I could of risked my shoulder not having range of motion for 1-3 years. It would of just been frozen at my side. VERY SCAREY. HE needs to have his shoulder in horrible pain and my husband couldn't even force it over my shoulder to do everyday tasks. GLAD I LEFT DR Soldatis....and moved on to someone who actually cares for his patients. He never even recommended physical therapy....I personally asked to go so that I could get more help. Everyone I have talked to says it is imperative to your shoulder rehab to get into physical therapy as soon as possible! Just a joke of a doctor!!!!!!!!

Dr. Soldatis medical knowledge is superior and he takes the time needed to listen to his patients. I went through one shoulder surgery and months of rehab before I went to Dr. Soldatis for a second opinion. He was able to identify my problems quickly. Thanks to him and his staff's A+ care I have a pain free/functioning shoulder again. There is no other orthopedic doctor for me or my family.
