Dr. Jeffrey Joel Alvis, MD

My mom had to take my son to his appointment for a fast respiratory rate, cough, and increased nasal secretions. Dr. Alvis was so kind to my mom. She was so worried about my son. He took time to reassure her and talk her through everything. He even took time to call me at work and update me on his findings at the appointment. My son ended up having RSV, as he had suspected, and after Dr. Alvis told my mom to take my son to the ER, he was admitted to the hospital. Dr. Alvis then called me the next day, on a SATURDAY, to check in and see how my son was doing. He is so kind and knowledgeable. We love him! He even has grandma’s approval!

I can't believe how blessed we are to find Dr. Alvis!! If you are searching for the best and most recommended pedi in McKinney you HAVE to go see him. He is the most caring physician, extremely intelligent, and is very sweet with our children. I researched every pediatrician in the area and he was by far the most recommended by families. Our child had serious medical needs and we owe his health and life to the care of Dr. Alvis.

Dr. Alvis is a very thorough, knowledgable, and most importantly, caring physician. He listens and takes time to answer any questions! Great pediatrician!

It was such a breath of fresh air to come to Stonebridge Pediatrics. My family travels quite a bit and it's always hard when my children get sick and we are not familiar with doctors in area we are staying in. I really was extremely amazed at how Dr. Alvis interacted with both my children and treated us like he has known us for years, because honestly when doctors hear that we will not be a long time patients they tend not to be very personable and/or have good bedside manners. I truly wish I could have Dr. Alvis for my children's primary pediatrician.

My daughters have been seeing Dr. Alvis for almost 5 years now and I continue to be impressed with his expert care and caring office staff. One daughter was struggling significantly socially and behaviorally so we brought her to see Dr. Alvis. Her behavior was so disruptive that the entire family was miserable. After spending an hour with her and going through the paperwork requested from both us and her teachers at school he arrived at a diagnosis of ADHD and ODD. At that point we started medication and after a little trial and error our daughter is a whole new person. She's finally "herself". I can't say enough about Dr. Alvis and his expert care. Through working with our daughter he has turned our whole life around.

Very dissatisfied with Dr Alvis. I went to him for only 9 months. First he laughed at me for not knowing the true medical term of lethargic. Second, my child developed a rash at 4 months at the side of her face. Dr Alvis prescribed a $200 steroid cream. Rash did not get better and then he prescribed medicine so she would not get a staph infection. Rash kept coming back, I asked the doctor if it could be a food allergy since it started when I started to give her baby food. Doctor said it could be an allergy, but he did not want to do any testing and I should continue with the steroid creme. I went to get a second opinion. My daughter actually had a sensitivity to fruit. I took her off fruit and the rash cleared up and it has never returned!!! I should have went with my motherly instinct sooner and taken her to another doctor much sooner.

Dr. Alvis is a caring and wonderful pediatrician. He really helped our son with his ADHD when no one else would. I highly recommend him.

I was blessed to find Dr.Alvis. He just happened to be the 'on-call' doctor in the Plano hospital where my 6 yr old was delivered. We needed a pediatrician in McKinney and he was just starting his own office. We love him and have not ever wanted to change physicians. He's gone through some questionable staff before, but his right-hand person is amazing and also fantastic with children! I love his office! I've told anyone and everyone that is looking for a pedi or is dissatisfied with theirs to go to Alvis. I've seen his N.P's and Dr.Reyes also, and have been more than satisfied with all of them. Thank you Dr.Alvis for keeping us as parents a little bit more sane!

Dr. Alvis was recommended by several neighbors and by my obstetrician. I was really picky about choosing and pediatrician and he has really been great. I would highly recommend him.

From start to finish everyone was so nice and competent in his office. Dr. Alvis is very knowledgable and has a great bedside manner! I would highly recommend him!
