Dr. Jeffrey A Ascherman, MD

It is amazing that this person has not been fired so patients must beware. He admits his surgical work will not satisfy. Patients think he wants to communicate with them but he is too lacking in assertiveness to tell patients not to contact him. Instead, he contacts upper management -- get this: Public Safety, and everyone in administration he can contact to tell them to write to his patients to tell them not to message or call them. Okay, he does admit his work is poor, but this is a grown man. He needs someone to tell him to tell his patients directly he doesn't want to be contacted. The confounding part is that he always responds, so it's a shock to get a letter by certified mail from another saying Ascherman doesn't want his patients to contact him. He tries to make an appointment to do surgery, despite taking no pictures or measurements, which any competent doctor knows to do. That Columbia Doctors is doing nothing about getting rid of him, even after learning the granular facts… about him, the patient must take dealings with this abuser into their own hands. He's quick to give testimony against a patient who was harmed by another doctor - as a favor to the doctor, in an area in which he has no expertise. He ran for office claiming even though with no experience he should be elected over an experienced candidate because in medicine he only cares about a problem, not politics. This doctor is not worth an appointment. You'll never know what he's thinking because he's too shy. Select another. He's not as qualified.

Dr. Ascherman was incredibly skilled and kind. He was at all times professional and explained all parts of my breast reconstruction post mastectomies. He did an outstanding job, was very concerned about my adjustment post surgically and was meticulous in his reconstruction. The results were EXCELLENT and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM

I elected Dr Ascherman for a liposuction procedure of very resilient belly fat. I did so, because Dr Ascherman was very clear in our first consultation and did not paint a dreamscape of results. The surgery came and went just as he had explained, and he was very supportive in the recovery. Now, six months later I can tell you that the results are better than he had initially promised, and continue to improve. On top, there is barely any scar tissue. To sum up, I can only recommend at least consulting with Dr Ascherman before you see any other Manhattan cosmetic surgeon.

He's also very available to help if I have any questions between appointments, I just send him a picture and a description and he was able to help with any concerns or questions I had.
