He has been program chairman for the AAP Emergency Medicine section meeting, course director for a national review course for Pediatric Emergency Medicine (PREP:EM) as …well as editor for a new AAP online self-assessment for Pediatric Emergency Medicine (PREP:E-Med). Dr. Avner has published many original studies and review articles on a variety of PEM topics, but his specific interest lies in the management of febrile children. His work on febrile infants has been published in Pediatrics, Pediatric Emergency Care and the New England Journal of Medicine.
