Dr. Jeffrey John Backenstoes, DO

Great staff. Pleasant , professional atmosphere.

Dr Backenstoes staff was well organized and efficient. I was in and had my history completed quickly. Waiting time for the doctor was 10 minutes. I found Dr. Backenstoes to be very professional, and concerned about my history and eager to help find solutions to my problems. He prescribed certain medicines to begin with along with a blood test. I will learn about the results in a follow up visit

I would have to say this was probably the worst decision we had made concerning my mother's health. She went to see Dr. Backenstoes many times. He gave her herbs for conditions that were very serious. He overlooked blood clots in her lungs, in her legs. Diagnosed them as secondary clots, no need to worry. At her age, he should of sent her for more tests at the hospital once these "secondary"clots appeared. He was too laid back with her health care. He missed her iron levels that were too low, therefore not allowing for her to have a routine colonoscopy. Thank god another doctor picked up on her levels and would not allow for the procedure to take place. This was the red flag we needed. We became concerned that he missed her iron levels being so low, that other things became apparent. When we contacted his office for some help with getting her records sent to the hospital which admitted my mother, he delayed, stalled and the women in admin were very unhelpful. We obviously never… returned, but he also never made contact to see how my mother was doing. I would never recommend this doctor to anyone. Maybe if you were already healthy, looking for some mediocre herbs to take care of non serious aliments, take your chances. But with the way he dealt with my mother's health, it was alarming.

This doctor seems to know what he is doing. His staff, however, is incompetent. They do not follow up, pass along messages, and once reported that test results were negative...thankfully the tech performing the test had given me a heads up that something wasn't quite as it should be. If this doctor replaced his office staff, esp. the medical assistant/s, with professionals, he'd be top notch.

Do not go to this doctor he is the worst doctor in the area. Doesn't know what he's doing .

I have been seeing Dr. Backenstoes for about a year now, and I couldn't be more impressed. I have never met a doctor that listen's better and is more thorough. I truly appreciate his holistic approach to medicine, which is very important because I believe our bodies have the ability to heal itself using natural products, as opposed to just masking the symptoms which numerous medications often do.

I have been using Jeff as my primary physician for 10 years. I think his medical knowledge goes beyond most primary care physicians because he is board certified in internal medicine. I go to him for all my medical needs such as annual exam, flu shots, etc.

I like Dr. Backenstoes very much. Sometimes he seems to rush through the appointment. Sometimes it seems as if he really doesn't listen to your issues or symptoms. Seems like he just wants payment and out the door.

I have been going to Dr. Backenstoes for the last 8 years he is a wonderful, caring doctor. A rare doctor that actually listens to you. He has treated our entire family from flu to depression. I can't say enough good things about he or his staff.

Plan on waiting up to an hour after your appointment time till you actually see the doctor.Becoming very impersonal ....like going to the vetrinarian.
