Dr. Jeffrey Alonzo Buckner, MD

I don't agree with the review that says his office is dingy. The only downside to his office is that the waiting area is cramped. I just visited him 2 days ago and I'm very glad that I saw him for a blood related problem I'm having. I went to him because he is a board certified hematologist. I found him to be very knowledgeable and to have a great manner. I saw him on a weekday afternoon and there was minimal wait time. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Dr. Buckner to anyone seeking either a hematologist or a general practitioner/internist. The phone number for him that is on this website is not his main office number. The phone at 30 E 40th St. is 212-689-0040. As another pointed out he is quite willing to email you your lab results. Seriously, if you need a hematologist, this guy is great!

Dr. Buckner set me at ease and listened to what I had to saiy. He is very efficient and does not plunge into useless tests and treatments. He sets a tone that is both businesslike and down to earth. He is responsive on a timely basis. I find Dr, Buckner to be an excellent and, by all appearances, a very healty physician. I would not hesitate to recommend him, based on a year's experience.

A good man, clearly. The good part of Dr. Buckner is he spends a lot of time talking to each patient in his office. He really wants to know how your life and health are going. Unusal but great in this day in age. He is not an alarmist and indirectly, based on his calm demeanor, encourages patients to be less neurotic about their health. He provides excellent referrals. The downside of Dr. Buckner is that his physical exams are cursory at best and he does not perform routine things that most other GP's would do. He'll just send you to a referral. His office is pretty dingy, which is concerning for a Medical office, Not very professional assistants. Finally, he seems to rely on technology, but yet doesn't have ready access to your files or recent history and often spends a lot of time seemingly distracted as he looks at his computer.

Can not say enough good things about Dr. Buckner and his office.Never ever a long wait. Average is 5 - 10 minutes at most.Great bedside manner! Wonderful doctor, went to see him as a specialist and he is my new primary care doctor.

I found Dr. Buckner on my insurance directory and then read the reviews here. Dr. Buckner is by far the best doctor I ever visited. Not only he's a pro, he's also kind, informative, and cares about the patient like nobody else. Unlike other clinics (especially in NYC) where you feel like a worthless piece on the money-making conveyor belt, Dr. Buckner makes you feel important, worthy, and human being. If you don't have a primary doctor yet or if you're sick of your current one - Dr. Buckner is hands-down your best bet.

Dr. Buckner has been my doc since 1994, when he correctly diagnosed a condition that at least five other doctors had missed.He is extremely capable and compassionate, and he listens.

I've been a patient of Dr. Buckner for 20+ years. Diagnosis always 100% spot on, communication skill 100% spot on, when I have a concern and voice it he provides a thorough follow up. If you ask...after all, a physician is not a magician...you will receive. Dr. B. is understanding, very bright, empathetic and thorough. Remember...Communication is a '2' way street. I am very happy with Dr. B.
