Dr. Jeffrey Brian Byer, MD

I had an appointment on 11.11.24 with Dr. Breyer. I checked in with my photo id plus medical insurance card to present to receptionist/nurse on duty. They should have verified that the patient has valid insurance. I got a massive hefty bill that I owed over $300 for my service date above from this lousy unprofessional Dr. I called the billing dept on the statement invoice. I spoke to a Ken who was able to assist me to resolve my billing issue. He stated that the Dr office FAILED to submit my BCBS medical insurance. Therefore, I was billed with that. I had to give Ken my BCBS medical insurance policy number so you can override my patient bill of $300 and let the insurance pay it. Moving forward, the DR office can take action to submit patient's insurance as the patient is there for the appointment. This tells me his office practice is really hungry desperate for business so he goes after the patient not insurance.

I have been to other ENT doctors but Dr. Byer and his staff are the best. The expertise and compassion from the doctor and his staff is refreshing.

Been going to him for years when needed, always took great care of me and goes above and beyond normal protocol. Highly recommend. I have tinnitus and he scheduled me for a hearing test which went very well, as I did lose some hearing in the higher frequencies and now is helping me see that I get set up with the proper hearing aid that is best for me.. The audiology dept is helping as well.. They do make hearing aids that help mask tinnitus..

Compassionate and competent

Dr. Buyer was really nice and reassuring. It was great to have him help me.

After telling me that my insurance coverage was a Tier i, then taking my Tier 1 co-payment, I was billed at the higher rate of a Tier 2 patient. After several months of being ignored by the billing staff, I was told that it isn't the staff members fault that she gave me WRONG information. I've been threatened with Collections action if I don't pay their $280 charge and the office, including Dr Byer, refuses to have his office take any of the blame or share in the cost. I will NEVER recommend the Office of Ear, Nose & Throat Physicians to ANYONE due to the terrible way they've handled this error. A sad way to treat a Senior Citizen, trying to squeeze money out of someone that isn't their fault.

I may have been better off reading webmd or google... He was useless and gave bad info.. Don't trust him

Did less to examine me than my PCP did. Sent me for a hearing test and said he would follow up afterward, but never did.

dr byer is great, really cares.
