Dr. Jeffrey Jay Carls, MD

Dr Carls was my dr 10 yrs ago and he was great. I am back in Lake Havasu and he is still a great doctor. He has a wonderful staff and I almost enjoy going there.

I’ve read all the reviews about Dr. Carls and coming from someone that has 15+ years working in the Operating Room As a scrub , nurse and First Assist. I’ve seen more than my fair share of horrible doctors that resulted in horrible outcomes. Everybody is not going to have the same opinion. Therefore - I’m going to tell you my experience as patient that has also been behind the scenes. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. Jeff Carls at Lake Havasu CosMedics. From the initial phone call to set up my consultation, to my very first appointment right before COVID hit to my very last appointment and all the in between, Dr. Carls and his staff (Christie Carls) were absolutely wonderful. After meeting Dr. Carls for the first time, I was confident I had found the very skilled surgeon with a phenomenal staff that I had been searching for. The entire staff is kind, considerate, patient and understanding. They were devoted to make me feel comfortable and respected. I have never in my… life received such exceptional patient care. They truly care about their business, bedside manor and most important they were available for any follow up questions or concerns. Highly recommended by a medial professional with a focus in plastic surgery.

Dr Carls had been my family physician for years. Recently I had been complaining to my daughter about how I was treated there by some of his staff and that Dr Carls would never address me with any issues if it wasn't "part of my appointment". I would have to make "another appointment". He always seemed to be in a hurry. Well, I finally decided to reach out to another doctor "recommended" by my heart physician. Luckily this new doctor said with my family skin cancer history (I've had 1 melanoma, son and wife passed away due to melanomas, and daughter has had 3), I should be seeing a dermatologist as well. She sent me to a "dermatological cancer center". (Dr Carls would always "just freeze anything off".) Fortunately for me I now have a new doctor who takes care of my needs and sent me to a dermatologist as she realizes this isn't her area of expertise. It was discovered that 2 moles Dr Carls was freezing off ended up being melanomas. My new doctor saved my life.

The first time I went to the office, I was in chronic pain due to sciatica. Dr. Carls gave me a thorough exam, sent me to the X-ray room and met me right outside the X-ray room to review the X-rays with me. He took very good care of me and I decided then and there that he would be my primary doctor. He has a sense of humor, takes his time to listen to me and makes me very comfortable. If you are in need of a doctor, I highly recommend him.

I was late for 2 of my pro-time tests which I should get every month...the first was equally the DR.'s fault...the second time was my fault and I take responsibility ,,,but his nurse and then him literally attack me in the most unprofessional way . with the snarkiest display of disrespect. I had already decided to change DR's he was just odd...but his display of temper tantrum was way out there.

One problem a visit. Any more than one can be handled the next time and the next and the next. Very much a hands on the door knob type and his nursing staff is very rude and uncaring.

The office staff forces you to make unnecessary or duplicate visits. They refused me care when I questioned this. These people are awful.

He actually took the time that was needed to correctly diagnose me. He did not just hand out antibiotics, but did an actual blood test to make sure I needed them. His staff was friendly and helpful.

doctor carl's is so smart he doesn't have to listen to patients...he knows what your condition is even without asking...he is also not available at times when needed...I ended up seeing a PA for bronchitis four days after I had seen him, and he didn't diagnose it...lab is wonderful
