A nationally recognized speaker,In 2001, Dr. Demain founded the Asthma and Allergy Foundation ofAmerica, Alaska Chapter. Additionally he is a member on the NationalInsect Allergy Committee, of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthmaand Immunology. Dr. Demain is published in numerous peer-reviewed medical journals, is a review editor on several, and is co-author of a textbook, Cutaneous Allergy. A long-time Alaskan, Dr. Demain is an avid fly fisherman, skier, and outdoorsman.
