He damaged my arm by stabbing my vein and it took more than a month to recover!! My forearm, elbow and surrounding areas were red, blue, purple and black for a few weeks. I had to wear long sleeves in the middle of summer for 4 weeks!!! The office is in a building that’s under construction that doesn’t seem like it should be the location of a doctors office. That was my first red flag. I had to go down to a basement level to see Dugas. I waited over an hour for him to see me. When he drew my blood himself, causing quick and severe pain and blood to fill in my arm. My forearm looked like my calf. I asked him what was happening and Dugas just walked away from me and left me there holding my arm. He didn’t respond or tell me what was happening to me. A few minutes later, the receptionist from the front desk gave me an ice pack and she couldn’t tell me what was happening to arm. It was swelling and becoming larger by the minute! The room is underground and they don’t… have WiFi, so I couldn’t get service to call anyone or Google anything. Dugas came back about 15 minutes after this started and quickly said “I pushed it through, sorry about that” and then told me my blood results would be emailed to me! He told me I would be fine but wouldn’t tell me what happened to me! I walked out and rushed to the closest emergency treatment I could find. They told me he blew my vein. Meaning he stabbed my vein through and through causing blood to quickly pool inside my arm with a baseball size amount of blood. I had to ice my arm for several hours and over the next few days the pain got a lot worse. My entire forearm because red and purple, and the bruising kept getting bigger and bigger. My arm was very tender to the touch and when I thought my arm was clearing up, I realized the blood was just pooling to my elbow and the area around it. I had to go to a second doctor to get my arm checked out. The emergency visit was the first because Dugas stabbed my vein and I suppose ruptured it. The second doctor told me I had to wait for my body to absorb the blood which could take a few weeks up to a couple of months!! Two months later they send me a bill. No blood results, no call to check on me, just a bill. I’ve had to use my insurance and pay for an emergency visit and a doctor’s visit since he did this to me!
