Dr. Jeffrey B. Greene, MD

I have been a patient of Dr. Jeffrey Greene from 1985. After receiving news which turned my life on a dime, I was referred highly to Dr. Greene where it was not easy to get available appointments. He was and is on the cutting edge of infectious diseases by attending conference after conference all over the world. He was comfortable in treating patients when many weren’t, which explained a waiting room full of patients and concerned family members or friends. After moving to different private office locations, (mostly to accomodate his clientele) he is now located at NYU Langone, the way the seasoned and less seasoned doctors are grouped together. To this day, the combo of Dr. Greene and Jill Frickenhaus is not to be believed. I still receive emails and return phone calls from them at 8 pm on the same day, when the office closes at 5pm. In summary, I was terrified beyond belief of what I struggled with, but here I am 34 years later and still receiving treatment with the quality… and care from day one. Be your own judge, but be realistic of the medical profession and the differences from your own successful private practice to working out of a hospital who, of course, has their own agenda. He has much experience , much wisdom and chose a practice when many wouldn’t. He is also up on the latest information and I know I am around today because of the genuine care and concern I have received for 35 years. I encourage you to reach out to their office. Emiliano is a charm at the front office, Jill has advanced her career over the years and is excellent to see for routine visits, follow ups as well as any questions you may have. If she doesn’t know the answer off hand, she will find out the correct information before advising you. Lastly, this is the only office I know of that has maintains a sense of humor and promotes a feeling of comfort throughout the office. I have read some previous comments, mostly great, but the ones that are rated low, I feel are not taking into consideration that exhaustion, dedication, less pay, less staff, and cutbacks will bring anyone to having good and bad days. We all have them, but the amount of stress in the medical industry, if you can only imagine, to me is normal to not be expected. Give them another try and talk with them about your concerns....which is one of their many fortes. Thank you for listening.

Had 11 UTIs in one year. Saw several urologists and all they did was treat the infection and wait for the next one. He has me on a regimen that has brought my UTI count down to 1 or 2 a year. I’ve got my life back.

Always takes the time to explain everything and always knows what to do.

By far the most dangerous doctor I've ever had based on his sheer incompetence and lack of care for his patients. He neglected to advise how dangerous my cholesterol levels had been for the many years while I was under his "care" Left me with severe cardiac issues as a consequence. He is cold, aloof and detached from his duties to provide personal medical guidance. I regret ever having trusted him with my health.

My elderly aunt was at NYU for 2+ weeks with a very serious staph infection, and Dr. Greene was excellent, she is on the road to recovery.

For a first visit, this is as good as it gets! Dr. Greene was incredibly knowledgeable, thoughtful, spent an inordinate amount of time taking down my medical history himself and answering my questions. He drew the blood personally and did so without causing a second of discomfort. He was professional in every way, but also personable and totally available and forthcoming. I feel very lucky to have found Dr. Greene, and look forward to seeing him again (that is, as much as anyone actually looks forward to seeing a doctor...)

Can't confirm whether his diagnosis is accurate, but he certainly spent time with me to ensure a thorough exam. As a highly recommended Doctor, however, I'm sure you'll be in good hands if you choose him.

Dr. Greene is extremely knowledgeable in all areas of medicine. He is caring, and direct. He has been my doctor for 20 years, and I consider him, and his staff, as one of the major assets in my life.
