Dr. Jeffrey David Gross, MD

I have been a patient of Dr. Gross for the past 5 years and he has always been very amiable and professional. However, when I had my annual physical this May 10,2018, at my request Dr. Gross prescribed "mild" sleeping aid, when I inquired on what that would be and indicated concern as I did not want anything too strong. His response was , "don't worry, it will not make you any crazier than you are now". When I picked u the prescription at my drug store the pharmacist made an inquiry as to why Trazadone had been described to me, I informed him that I was looking for a sleeping aid, he stated albeit this drug induces sleep as a side effect, and that it is used for treating depression. I took one Trazadone at 11:00 p.m. that evening. When I awoke 12 hours later, I was completely useless, dizzy, lightheaded, and very unstable. I waited until the next day to inform Dr. Gross, what I had experienced, I was unable to speak to the doctor directly, only to his PA. I was told that the… doctor would reach out to me to discuss. As of today, May 14, 2018 I have not received a call from Dr. Gross. Needless to say, I am quite shocked that he would prescribe an anti-depressant to a 68 year old female, who has never been treated for depression. In addition I was very disappointed that he never reached out to me. I am in the process of securing another Primary Care provider. Shame on you Dr. Gross.
