Dr. Jeffrey Wayland Hull, MD

He is very rude and arrogant! Slammed the door on us while we were asking questions about medicines for our son. Not to mention he always would speak to us like we were a huge inconvenience to him.

Dr. Hull has been our pediatrician since 1997. Through the years he and his staff have provided excellent care for our children. Dr. Hull is a brilliant man and is often misunderstood in my opinion. My children love his wit and bedside manner. He truly cares for his patients and takes his oath seriously. Many times people of such intelligence are challenged in presenting themselves as "warm and fuzzy", but it shows in other ways. He has always responded to our calls, emails, and worked us in on busy days. We appreciate his ability to select top notch nurses and staff and his ability to engage in intellectually stimulating conversation. His office is very kid friendly and educational. His fish tank and dinosaur room are great! We also love the fact that he has a "well waiting room" and a "sick waiting room" -that's just smart.

Horrible bedside manners..my children's doctor for 15+ years and treated us like strangers every visit. He never took bloodwork for yearly exams. Arrogant, rude, and demeaning are three words that describe....so glad we have moved on!

Dr. Hull knows his stuff. His only problem is he talks down to parents. He also seems to show considerable more care with his own patients than those who may have to see him because he is the doctor on call.

I have four children. We use Dr. Hull. My children love him. If ever they get sick (or think they are getting sick) they say "I'm sick I need to go see Dr. Hull". We have never had a bad experience with him or his wonderful staff. My youngest child was born a very sick baby. Dr. Hull came in to see him three to four times a day (even on the weekend). I would and I have recommended him to my friends. I work at a childcare center and when asked if I would recommend a doctor for a child I always recommend Dr. Hull.

Recently my 10 month old son was admitted into the hospital, for running a 104.2 temp. and becoming lethargic. we go to the hospital on a Thursday night around midnight with the recommendation of the on call doctor who later admitted him (not Dr.Hull) He ran some blood work and did a spinal tap, later coming back with he did have both ears infected and fluid from spinal tap was clear so good sign no meningitis he thought. still couldnt figure out what the high fever was coming from. later into the night(nearly 2 in the morning) we find out his test for RSV was positive and his test for the FLU was negative. Would take longer for the blood test and other cultures to come back. Doctor tells us he will be off that weekend, will be Dr. Hull looking after us. Saturday morning expecting to be seeing Dr.Hull on his morning rounds(we were told he was seeing patients down the hall) we waited....waited...waited, never even stuck his head in to check on us! then I page a nurse around lunch and… ask her what is going on,? well she couldnt tell me anything, anything about his lab result or when or why Dr.Hull wasnt seeing us. A tech came in to check his breathing and said he was back for his lunch rounds. Once again we waited and once again never checked on my child. So at this point after sitting in the hospital bed holding my son still attached to an iv, I was beginning to get a little frustrated. I called my regular pediatricians office hoping I could get someone to answer(knowing the doctor was out of town)so I finally get an answer and talk with the nurse who is totally shocked at the treatment I am receiving at this hospital and with the doctor to whom is supposed to be on call for their patients over the weekend. She informs me over the phone to stop giving my child the RX ear drops they(our pediatrician) had prescribed and Motrin (I had been told by the nursing staff to give him MYSELF) because the ear drum had ruptured (figuring this out on my own because of the junk running out of it)and not to put ear drops in a ruptured ear drum. She was shocked and a little disturbed that a hospitals nursing staff would have me self medicate my own sick child. so after some phone calls made by her to the hospital and Dr.Hull's office he finally at about 5pm came in....Storms in the room, comes over to the bed...where we had been since the night before...and checks his heartbeat(total of 2 seconds)gets back up asks me in a smart tone "Why was he admitted?" and walks out of the room. Needless to say I was hysterical once again calling my office and explaining what happened, she makes more phone calls has the patient relations woman in there apologizing to me and trying to figure out what had happened. about an hour and a half later nurse comes in and tells me Dr.Hull is on phone at nurses station and he also apologizes and tells me he will be back to check him and look over his chart with me. He comes back a couple hours later and tries to act like a different doctor also admits to the fact he didnt even listen to his heartbeat when he was there before!! are you kidding me?? I was in total shock of the way this DOCTOR who took on an oath and also went into pediatrics was treating my 10 month old baby!! totally unacceptable in my book! thank the lord we were out of there by Saturday night and will never see that man again in our lives! even with a serious medical emergency would I ever recommend seeing that man. I rate him as VERY unprofessional, VERY uncaring and VERY unconcerned about his patients he is seeing. that was my experience with Dr. Hull. My kids hardly ever get sick and this to us was terrifying and also still an unbelievable experience. When your child is extremely sick you take them to the hospital to be taken care of and looked after. You put your trust and worries into the pediatrician who is taking care of them. I would strongly recommend not doing so with him. Later we found out doctor was mad he was caring for a patient that wasnt his. Isnt a doctor who is on call for another doctor supposed to consider them their patients? I at least thought so!

Dr. Hull and his staff are great about working you in quickly and calling you back about your concerns or calling in minor medication. Fifth disease went around our school and a lot of other drs. had their kids come in just to tell them there's nothing you can do but not Dr. Hull.
