Dr. Jeffrey P. Huml, MD

Dr. Huml had treated my husband for many years. (20 maybe?) My husband has a rare auto-immune disease, and Jr. Jeff was ALWAYS there, asap when he was needed for far too often - serious matters. He was our friend, not a nose up in the air doctor, but a true friend. When he left his position to become part of critical care, we were terribly sad. How could he ever be replaced? Last week, my husband came as near to death as one can get. Dr. Huml saw his name on a list, and was immediately at my husband's side. (not once, not twice, but many times) He talked to my son and my husband, as only he can do. This is a special doctor, and an exceptional man! Dr. Huml, if you should see this, please know how much your presence at that time meant to us, esp. my husband. We love you. God Bless You and Yours Always.

Dr. Huml got my husband through the worst illness of his life, lung cancer. He was sensitive, caring, straight forward and realistic. He put together an outstanding team of clinicians and we have the outcome they all said was possible. I am a clinician and I openly welcomed his detailed explanations. I asked him to explain things to me as if I did not know medicine because I was not a clinician on the medical team but a spouse and that is what I needed to be. I needed to put myself in other shoes to do what was needed on the family team. I have and would recommend him for any critical medical situation. We are forever grateful to him for both his skill and his demeanor/bedside manner.

He may be a good doctor but he has no skill or time for talking with families when their loved one is ill. He talks down to family like we are dumb just because we are not physicians. Will never go back to CDH again.
