Doctor billed wrong diagnostic code for procedures. This caused my insurance carrier to reject payment and I was left with a grossly inflated bill. Attempted to address this too numerous times to count. Nobody in his office was willing to help. Reported the bill which I wanted to pay, but needed to be corrected, to the credit agencies. Shameful behavior. They just don’t care about you at all!

Very knowledgable, friendly and reassuring doctor. I was apprehensive about doing a colonoscopy, but after consulting with him and having the procedure performed, I'll give him and his staff a 10. I highly recommend him to friends and family.

9 years ago I was taken in to memorial hospital by ambulance. I couldn’t walk when they arrived. I was suffering from a very severe esophageal varicies veins basically exploding and was losing blood at a rapid rate. The ER Drs and staff had to keep pumping me with blood as I’d lost about 40% of my own and was surely. Dr Kaner was on call and made it to the hospital immediately after being called at around 3am. He rushed me to surgery where he used every bit of his expertise to band and cortorize the giant spiders nest of exploding veins. I’ve read when losing blood from vomiting and through rectal loss that the situation is very grave as I quickly lost over 40%. That’s a death sentence. But Dr Kaner remained calm through s very intense emergency operation and was very successful. He recommended a liver transplant and over the next few months did as much as the prep work necessary to try and get approved at Jackson/UM for a transplant. While doing the prep I was hospitalized at Holy… Criss hospital where the basically had me in hospice type treatment. IE: heavy pain meds,lots of rest and waiting for my strength to build up for additional tests. 11days if this and I was nearly gone. My wife and friends petitioned the staff at UM Mefical Gastro/ Transplant department and the found a bed for me and got me there in a 100mph ambulance ride. I was gone at that point. I needed Emergect transplant and received my new liver ina few week by the Jackson TO team. (Very heavyweight Drs worked on me and I survived. Besides the TO they remivedva large cancer who’s cells bled through my cell walls so it was innky blood stream seeking a place to settle. I immefiywent on a very strong chemo drug called Nexavar for 14 months and switched my anti-immunol meds to Rapoamun. Adlai a chemo based cancer fighter. More happened after but this is review for Dr Jeffrey Kaner who absolutely saved me through his intense knowledge and expert surgery technique. I stil 9 years later think of his heroic efforts at 3am and the amazing job he did in saving me and scaring me into reality about needing thenliver trsndplant. Calm and courteous; thoroughly professional. Be prepared to wait though... he spends time with patients--which sometimes has him running later than expected.

I don't know what is wrong with this practice, but this is the worst-run doctor's office I've ever encountered. Messages left with the medical assistant (Taneesha) and medical records are often not returned. When I asked one staff member about this, she told me that voicemails are routinely "ignored" when they are short-staffed. (Seriously? At a doctor's office?!) You'll also likely get conflicting information regarding treatment depending on whom you talk to. The doctor will say one thing, and he'll be contradicted by the physician's assistant, who in turn will be contradicted by the scheduler. Ridiculous. I require routine maintenance to stay well, and I ended up in the emergency room (entirely preventable) because these people couldn't get on the same page. If you have any sort of chronic illness, seek help elsewhere. Believe me, any other practice is better than this one.
