Dr. Jeffrey Irwin Korchek, MD

I had a broken fibula - he really went over my options. He performed the surgery to fix it and did a great job. I really recommend him.

Not the only game in town!

I had my left knee total replacement by Dr. KORCHEK in 2009. I had a CPM machine for a couple of weeks to help me keep my knee moving. This was the BEST decision I ever made and I was out of the house in 3 weeks. I had the right replaced 6 mos. later. I stayed a bit longer in the house because that was my driving leg. NO MORE PAIN!!

AVOID DR. KORCHEK. Uncaring. Doesn't listen. In a hurry. I went to see Dr. Korchek 3 weeks after a major car accident - and was suffering from extreme pain in my shoulder, chest, and neck. I also had a prior shoulder injury that was made worse by the accident, along with a lot of tissue and ligament damage all over my body. I waited for 1 1/2 hours to get x-rays, and then another 30 minutes until Dr. Korchek finally showed up. His primary focus seemed to be how fast he could get out of the room and shuffle me along. He ran me through a quick series of tests - moving my arms in different directions - and was moving so quickly and clumsily, that at one point, he pulled my arm back and caused shooting pain where I was injured. But it didn't even register with him, he was moving so quickly. He never asked me about he car accident - and seemed to assume that it was a mere fender-bender, as opposed to the major impact that it was. (A van t-boned our car at 60mph.) He… would ask me questions, but cut me off before I was able to answer them. He was literally speed-talking through his questions, and really didn't seem to care what my answers were. When he found out that an MRI I had received BEFORE THE CAR CRASH for a prior shoulder injury was inconclusive, he told me, "There's nothing wrong with your shoulder." When I told him that there obviously was something wrong with my shoulder since I could no longer use my left arm (not to swim, catch, lift, anything... BTW, I'm 37 and I've been active all of my life, was a former state soccer MVP, Mogul Skiing Champion, etc.), he turned combative and acted like I was lying about severity of the issue. Ultimately, he prescribed me a steroid and more pain pills. Then he shuffled me out of the room toward the receptionist. They wanted to schedule me for a 3 week check-up. I didn't see the point. I'll eventually find somebody that can help me get healthy again. Dr. Korchek is not that person. I had found other orthopedists that I had wanted to go see that weren't contracted with my primary provider. I'll pay the extra money for better care. AVOID THIS GUY AT ALL COSTS.

I left my appointment stunned. This guy was rude, insensitive and impatient with zero bed side manner. He made me feel as if I was wasting his time. His examination of my knee was rough and it alarmed me. After the exam he left the room suddenly for no reason. When he came back we reviewed my MRI and I showed him the diagnosis I'd been given by my primary doctor and he said something like "Yea, that's probably what it is", not the answer I was expecting from an expert. Now I could sense he was finished with me but I had questions about rehab exercises and wanted to know if he concurred with the exercises given to me by my GP. He gave a quick look, circled what he liked, ignored the rest and then blurted something out about the stress of lunges on the knee and women who insist on doing them anyway for their butts even though I never said I did lunges.....had not even mentioned the word. Next thing I knew he was walking out the door giving a cursory good bye in the hall way. Needless to… say, I'll be looking elsewhere if there is a next time.

I felt like a number to Dr. Korchek and I felt like my questions were inconveniencing him. He pushed me out of his office as fast as he could. I feel that I need to get a second opinion.
