Dr. Jeffrey Thomas Laseter, MD

PLEASE DO NOT LET DR. LASETER TAKE AWAY YOUR QUALITY OF LIFE. Because of a botched epidural steroid injection, I now have long term nerve motor weakness pain and discomfort in my left leg. It has been 2 years and looking more like permanent damage. I have lost the happiness and joy of life at the hands of Dr. Laseter. As a Flowood resident, I have made it part of my life’s work to let my friends, family, and coworkers know how dangerous and the corrupt nature of Dr. Laseter at New South Neurospine. Not a day goes by that I don’t regret steeping foot in his office. I went in for a preventative injection to prevent future flare ups in my left sciatic nerve in my glute ( I was perfectly fine the day of the injection). When the injection was administered, an excruciating pain shot down from my spine through the calf and to my foot. I immediately shouted in pain to stop. I knew at that moment something wasn't right as I have had injections in L/4-5 before. Weakness and nerve discomfort set… in along my leg, calf and foot (and is still present daily 24 months from that injection). Over the next few appointments, Dr. Laseter would claim that the weakness and nerve discomfort was from the lidocaine, the next appointment weeks later he said that it was inflammation, then he stated his theory changed and stated this happens sometimes and it’ll get better, then the next appointment he stated that he hadn’t seen this before, finally the last appointment he took another stab at it to cover himself and said appears it may be a herniated disc. Each time I met with him over these initial months after the botched injection, I had to remind him that pain shot down my leg at the time of the injection and he always played oblivious to it trying to cover himself. In our last meeting, he purposefully left the door open to the hallway where our conversation can float into the hall for others to hear. I have never had a door open when speaking to a physician. HIPPA violation was all I could think about. A nerve conduction test was performed and it was discovered that the weakness and discomfort was coming from the S1 nerve (not the L/4-5 originally where in the injection was intended). An MRI was performed and the return appointment for Dr. Laseter to simply go over my results was pushed to 46 DAYS after the MRI was done (absolutely despicable). I've never distrusted a physician more than Dr. Laseter. This type of practice is dangerous and evil. My PT requested the MRI results several times to adapt my physical therapy sessions but records were never sent. One can see why I canceled my future appointments and my hope is that my experience reaches someone and prevents them from proceeding to this type of treatment with Dr. Laseter. Please don’t let him take you quality of life away.

I received two shots with Dr. Laseter for a herniated disk in my neck. Both were early morning spots so I figured I would get in pretty quickly, but both visits took over 3 hours due to waiting over an hour to see the doctor then being shuttled through another waiting room and process for the shot itself. I understand that things happen, but it was the same long waits both times and the staff didn't seem to think it was anything outside of normal. These are expensive procedures and I have to ask a family member or friend to drive so it's taking their time too. Doctors aren't the only people who think their time is valuable.

Several years ago I was seized by a sciatica-like pain radiating down my right leg that made it impossible for me to walk for more than a few steps. My neurosurgeon's evaluation included an MRI and referrals to several other specialists, including a neurologist. I was then sent to Dr. Jeff Laseter, who gave me two epidural injections of steroids, then a steroid injection in my right sacroiliac joint. I've now been pain-free for over five years. Without Dr. Laster's intervention I would have lost my independence.

This was my first time here and the experience was very satisfying and successful. Dr. Laseter and the entire staff were very courteous and professional.

Dr. Laseter was great from the start of consultation explaining what, why, and how. Would recommend him to anyone!

I have had 2 injection and happy with both so far. But pain has not gone away, Blessed a little. Neck still having issues.

The staff is very uncaring. If you call with a problem after a spinal injection you will not be able to talk to a nurse. You will be told they will tell the doctor" if they ca n run him down." But they are "not responsible "for what happens after the injection!!!!! And just keep your next appointment. I would not recommend going to this clinic. Please go somewhere else. Most unconcerned group I have ever seen in my life

On my visit I was very nervous. Dr Lassiter and staff were not friendly. They, in no way, helped. You lay on that table anywhere from 45 mins to an hour with your back end showing. I don't understand his logic. The first time I went I was in so much pain after the shot. I couldn't even function. I would not recommend him to anyone.

I recommend this dr to everyone. Very patient with patients and very caring.
