Dr. Jeffrey Martin Lehman, MD

If I could leave zero stars, I would. After being exposed to a newly found allergen that landed me in my local ER, having everything short of racemic epinephrine for my severe reaction….I made an appointment with Dr. Lehman. Having a job change came with different health insurance coverage, and I didn’t want to drive almost 2hrs to see my old allergist…It made better sense to see one closer. First, he never respected my “self reference” instead of getting a referral from my doctor. Second, I was told that I couldn’t be allergic to the new allergen because it was “impossible.” And he blamed my allergies on my underlying anxiety. I take my anxiety medication once every 3-4mos! My anxiety medication refills expire before I can even use them all! He pounded out questions without even hearing out my answers nor giving me a chance to explain thoroughly. He frequently spoke over me. Horrible bedside manner. My husband who was with me was completely disgusted. Dr. Lehman’s answer was for me to… take up to 40mg a day of Zyrtec to combat my new allergen. He was rude, disrespectful, did not listen, arrogant, and treated me like I had no idea what I was talking about. I’m a paramedic of 12yrs and worked in EMS for 16yrs. I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND ANYONE TO SEE HIM, EVER!

If it were possible to rate with zero stars, that would be more of an appropriate rating. He demonstrates a very poor bedside manner in that he chooses to speak over his patients rather than listening to them. He also has a habit of interrupting individuals while they are expressing their concerns as he would rather they simply accept that he already knows what the issue is and how to resolve it. It is best to do yourself a favor and seek out a physician that has a sense of professionalism. Unfortunately, this particular professional, and I use that term very loosely, is not a fit for patients that wish to be treated respectfully.

I've fortunately had to see Dr. Lehman a few times but both times, I felt like I was supposed to be "honored to be in his presence"...if I asked literally any questions at all, he made me feel stupid. Don't see him if you can at all help it.

Very dismissive of my family doc's recommendations and attempted to "educate" me basic medical information even though I have worked in healthcare for 6 years...just because I am not an MD doesn't mean I don't know the difference between Tylenol and ibuprofen. I would not go back to see him.

He is extremely arrogant and discounted my doctor's (in the northwest Chicago suburbs) recommendations in a 10 minute visit after glancing at my serious and complex medical history of multiple severe food, medical, and chemical allergies, chemical sensitivities, asthma, RA symptoms, and autoimmune disease for maybe 2 minutes max. I would never trust him to care for myself or my children. His medical care was so poor compared to one of the best allergists I used to see at Rush Presbyterian Hospital in Chicago.

Dr. Lehman is an amazing doctor. He took time to ask, listened and addressed all my problems. After seeing so many doctors, He is the only one that really helped me find to what's causing my problems. He also was able to determined other problems that i needed answer for a very long time that wasn't even related to Allergy. I highly recommend this doctor.

I have absolute trust in this doctor. He is the only one who was able to help my child. She is so much better....we were in and out of prompt cares almost constantly. Before she used to miss a lot of school and now only missed one day so far. Her symptoms are under control. I highly recommend him. He is very caring. There are only good things I can say about him.

He is not like most Doc's. He sits down with you and asks lots of questions, takes his time, he is in no hurry. He speaks to you like your a friend. He's a great Dr.
