Dr. Jeffrey Russell Leonard, MD

Our daughter was diagnosed with brain cancer at 8 months old. The surgeon that was at the hospital at the time told me that because of the location of the tumor he couldn't get a biopsy and wasn't comfortable going into that area even just for a small piece. So needless to say I never would have let him do a surgery on her because he was so hesitant. When she was almost 2 she had to have somewhat of an emergency brain surgery. Thankfully the same week this happened Dr. Leonard started working at our hospital. From the moment he came into the room his confidence showed. My very first question was "you're not going to let her die right?" And I will never forget his response. "Did you look me up? (I said yes) then you already know the answer to that". We immediately trusted him. Our daughters surgery went well and so did her recovery. She has to have brain surgery again almost 4 years later and we're so thankful that he is her surgeon. It's one of the scariest things to go through and… watch your child go through but having him as her surgeon has given us some relief. I thank God for him every day.

Dr. Leonard is my hero. When I was diagnosed as the first person with a specific tumor on my neck he stuck by my side the whole way. He is the most caring and polite person I have ever met. When I went through this i was in 3rd grade, and now I am a senior in high school and we still keep in touch. What other doctor would do that? He is truly the closest thing to God we have on this earth. He is an amazing man.

Dr. Leonard has been seeing our daughter for about 6 years now. She has a rare spinal defamatory in her neck. He has taken excellent care of her during this time. He treats her as if she was his own child. Dr. Leonard is a special person.

I would highly reccomend Dr. Leonard. I thank god that we were sent to him. He has done an excellent job with our son. Needless to say he is the man! He has a special way with kids. I trust him fully.

I got two surgerys and didnt have a complication

Dr. Leonard is amazing! He performed a very intricate brain surgery on our 18 year old daughter. He showed such compassion and concern from the first time he examined her. He took the time to explain each of her treatment options to us and most importantly to her. He described the possible post-op neuro effects. His surgical expertise and meticulous technique paid off! She has recovered to near perfect!!! Dr. Leonard was very compassionate and motivating for our daughter. He encouraged her to work hard and to stay positive each day he saw her after her surgery. His calm approach was extremely reassuring for us as parents.He is a true professional with an exquisite talent. We count our blessings every day that we were guided into his very caring and competent hands.

Dr. Leonard successfully removed a tumor from my daughter's brain. From looking at the MRI, he was able to diagnose the type of tumor (although he did say at first that he wouldn't be 100% sure until the tests came back...he was correct of course). What helped me through the whole process was his confidence. When we asked "So you think you can get it all?" he responded with "I didn't say I THINK. I said I WILL get it all." He did! Dr. Leonard is a true professional and we are grateful that he was able to help our daughter.
