Dr. Jeffrey Barton Mcginnis, MD

My child almost died from appendicitis because every NP and Dr. McGinnis knowingly ignored appendecitis symptoms during a two week period of vists overf and over again. My child's appendix almost had burst. We kept asking if it could be appendicitis but everyone we saw there said no. VERY negligent, and I think he drinks heavily too, from what I hear. Would NOT recommend. Office staff are very rude and act like they hate being there. One named Karen answers the phone like its cutting her leg off or something. And some are actually so antagonistic, its like they want to fight or something. Crazy staff and medical team.

My child has been to see Dr. McGinnis since birth. My child is now 3yrs old. Before moving to their new location the wait time to see the dr was minimal. Since moving into their new location beside Walmart I feel that their patient priority has changed. My child never got to see the dr anymore, just the NP. My guessing that he's took on too many new patients which is unfair to the ones that have been his patients for some time. A few weeks ago my child's appointment time was 11:00, after waiting for an hour I ended up leaving with my child and go to the ER. I'm currently looking for a new pediatrician even if I have to drive all the way to Lexington to find one.

Dr. McGinnis is personally both conscientious and knowledgable. Staff is generally courteous and friendly. If one were looking to constructively nitpick a bit, there are times where staff organization and inter-office communication to patient could be improved.
