Dr. Jeffrey Ray Neher, MD

Absolutely the most stigmatizing experience I have ever had with a physician. After being in the Emergency Room twice with severe burning in the throat and stomach, in addition to severe nausea and vomiting of stomach acid, Dr. Neher disregarded all physical symptoms because of my mental illness. I have an anxiety disorder and major depressive disorder. He looked in the system, asked what I take Lexapro for, told me to "stop worrying so much" and he "didn't know what else to say." He also said he "wanted to choose his words wisely..." and then proceeded to essentially tell me all of my physical symptoms were in my head. I am not only someone with mental illness, I am a mental health professional. Many, many people experience stigmatizing treatment by physicians, resulting in lower quality of care. Dr. Neher is absolutely one of these physicians and needs training for his bias immediately. Absolutely avoid if you have any mental health diagnosis in your file. He will not listen to… you.

Dr. Neher performed my colonoscopy screening. I found my experience to be positive and far beyond my expectations. Dr. Neher was professional, skilled and demonstrated a caring spirit. The staff working with him also demonstrated the same qualities.

I was referred to Dr. Neher by my family doctor. I waited five months to get in as a new patient with Neher. I then waited in the room for a good 35-40 minutes before being seen. As soon as Neher came in he said he wanted to schedule a colonoscopy-that was best to see what was going on with my symptoms. He gave me a bad vibe, I don't know if it was his eyes or the stiffness in his demeanor that made me more uncomfortable. I waited another several months to have the procedure and only saw Neher at the end of the table a few seconds before they began my sedation. I did not see Neher after the procedure and was instructed by the nurse at the hospital to call his office for a follow-up. My follow-up was then scheduled for three months after the procedure since Dr. Neher has such a packed schedule, apparently. When I arrived for my follow-up appointment I was told that Dr. Neher was called to the hospital and they needed to reschedule my appointment. I was annoyed that nobody called me to… inform me before I spent time and parking money for nothing. As they looked through Neher's appointment book to reschedule me they told me he was completely booked for the next three months. Getting irritated, I scheduled the next available appointment, six months after my procedure. Then, I showed up at the second rescheduled appointment and the same thing happened, only this time there was a different excuse Neher was not in the office. Again, no phone call informing me that there was a change and I completely wasted my time, and money....I did sit down with the receptionist to see if Neher would be available anytime soon and as she looked at the screen she shook her had saying his schedule was booked for "awhile out." That is when I left, a dissatisfied patient who six months out from surgery has yet to be seen by the operating physician. THAT is the definition of negligence. And I am interested in knowing how many other people this has happened to and I'm investigating if my insurance has been billed, by chance, for either appointment. Chances are if a doctor can disrespect his patient like this there might be other fraud he's willing to partake in. My voice will be heard. Met your match, here, I stand up for wrong when I see it.

I have gone to this doctor for years. He is a very good doctor but his lateness has gotten worse since I have known him.

1. Upon meeting him (if you choose to go to him after this review) you will notice that he is not personable. His attitude is clear: He is only there to get in and get out quickly. 2. You will wait in the office and your room for about 30-40 minutes before you see him. And once you do see him he spends a minimal amount of time with you (10-15 minutes tops). 3. He came in the room with a slight greeting and sat down with his laptop. He did not make any small talk and searched through my records silently. He asked about my problems, checked my stomach, and then his work was done. He quickly scheduled me for a procedure (and did the same thing for the follow-up visit). 4. I find the WORSE thing to be about him is the manner in which he leaves the room. He may allude to his departure: "That's what we'll do" or "Okay". Then he gets up (without shaking your hand) and bolts. He heads into his room and then does something like report what the visit was about (you can hear this from the… receptionist desk) and it is very loud. I don't want patients to hear my name and everything wrong with me. I honestly cannot wait to be done with this man. (p.s. His blue eyes are very strange as well....) ALSO: I had an endoscopy by him and I barely saw him.. The nurse told me he would come see me before my procedure but I only saw him in the operating room. He asked how I was doing and quickly left. ONE sentence to a nervous patient is unacceptable. After my procedure he spoke to me for only about 1-2 minutes about my results and he was off to do more procedures.

This guy is bad news. Stay away from him at all costs.

Didnt have choice as to which dr I had. He misdiagnosed me because he was too busy trying to discharge me from the hospital.

VERY DISAPOINTED WITH OFFICE STAFF & DR. NEHER. VERY POOR BEDSIDE MANNER. I SWITCHED DR.'S - NEVER TO RETURN.

HAve Ulcerative Colitis with serious bleeding complications. Dr Neher invested minimal follow up and bedside manner was unnacceptable. I switched Dr.s.
