Dr. Jeffrey T Omer, MD

Dr. Omer is always very punctual and his communication and follow-ups are outstanding. During visits he gives as much time and attention as necessary to explain issues and resolutions and he has a wonderful bedside manner. I highly recommend his service to anyone seeking a physician.

Dr. Omer is an extraordinary physician who takes time to listen, to examine thoroughly, and to discuss the nuances of—and effective treatment options for—medical conditions. I am especially impressed that he personally about lab results and results from hospital tests.

I somewhat recently switched to Dr. Omer based on a recommendation from a friend. It was a night and day difference. He is not only extremely knowledgeable and helpful as a physician, but he treats each patient with total focus. He was attentive and wanted to sincerely find the root of the problem. He also gave excellent service to my husband with a health plan and my older son. I’d recommend Dr. Omer highly.

Wait time is approx. 15 minutes from the time you sign to the time you are placed in a patient room. Then, only a few minutes later Dr. Omer comes in. All staff throughout the office is courteous. After dealing with several types of doctors many years ago, they could not diagnose or treat my illness correctly. A few days after seeing Dr. Omer, he diagnosed me with diabetes II. Wow! Even some of the best doctors in Kentuckiana couldn't even diagnose that. He also directed me to see other specialists that treated me for other serious illnesses. My husband and I have been with Dr. Omer for over 15 years and feel he is 1 of the best doctors Kentuckiana could have.

Dr. Omer is wonderful and competent. However, his medical assistant is hard to deal with. She does not call and it normally takes several days of calling to get the information or service needed. I had to set for over an hour waiting for lab work or an xray because she put me in the wrong waiting area or did not give them the necessary paperwork.

Front office wonderful, friendly. Back office, Lab wonderful. Dr's assistant, long wait, not friendly, very mechanical. Does not seem happy. She does not call back the same day, sometimes at all. When questions messages recorded, at times no call backs for info, appointments! Appointments for urgent follow ups very very poor. Hospital follow backs may be two weeks out. Love Dr Omer, always spends enough time, very personable. Enjoy talking to him. I feel bad for the assistant but it seems like she is not happy in her job. Brings the entire experience down to unpleasant chore to deal with assistant before appointment and during the appointment. A small smile and acknowledgement of our presence would go long way to make difference. But not going to happen I've seen other assistants of Dr Omers similar attitude and worse. Suggestion: Cert. Nurse Practitioner to lighten the Assistents load and get call backs, work in appointments for urgent visits, depending on experience of CNP. Would… benefit all in practice. One CNP could work with 3 MD's answering messages, writing prescriptions and calling results to patients.

He's he best! He listens to you and talks about what's happening in your life the may cause the problem. He doesn't write you a prescription and move to the next patient. He's really concerned. He keeps up with the best specialists, in case he needs to refer you to one.

Dr. Omer is warm yet very professional. He is thorough in his examination and questioning, never rushing an appointment. He was able to diagnose a problem that I had been dealing with for a long time that my previous doctor had missed. I highly recommend this doctor!

I enjoy Dr. Omer's time. He's not in a hurry and will discuss your situation in detail. A pleasing person to deal with. It can be hard to get a prompt appointment due to his busy schedule. Highly rated and recommended by Jewish Hospital.
