If you think about choosing Dr.Owen as your psychiatrist think again. I went into the adult psychiatric unit voluntarily to get my medicine figured out. I was told by 2 other doctors that I was able to leave on a certain day. He told me I had to stay 1-2 more days. I was not suicidal, mentally unstable, and showing that I was doing well. I had a support system waiting for me at home when I was getting out. I have good insurance and he told me I need to stay to “watch my medicine”. I told him I don’t feel safe and the nurses talk bad about the patients, bad living environment, nothing to do. That place was making me crazy! He would not let me leave. I started to cry and he grinned and did a smirking laugh. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!! I felt sick and stuck, he threatened to put me on a 96 hour hold if I tried to leave. He has no idea on how to respect and help the mentally ill. Makes me sick.
