Dr. Jeffrey Anthony Ramos, MD

My experience with Dr. Ramos was in a hospital setting during my father's stay. Dr. Ramos' bedside manner and attention to detail was wonderful. He kept the family informed during treatment, and made himself available for questions and concerns. When the efforts to help dad through his congestive heart failure became doubtful, Dr. Ramos suggested a meeting with the family and social services to fill us in on dadâ??s status. Dr. Ramos explained the situation and the options. He was honest, open, and caring. He broke bad news in a most empathetic and positive way. He listened to the patientâ??s concerns, the familyâ??s concerns, and made suggestions for further courses of action. At a time when the family was processing life-changing news, Dr. Ramos provided us with as much of his time as we needed to grasp the situation. Dr. Ramos addressed every concern, and responded to every question. He gave no impression that he had any other patients to worry aboutâ??that dadâ??s care was… his utmost focus. Dr. Ramos listened actively, and prepared all the necessary treatments, orders, and coordination with other caregivers and resources. I have nothing but good things to say about this doctor.

During patient care, Dr. Ramos showed a clear disdain to engage patients questions aboutwhy he ordered a specific course of treatment. Dr. Ramos demonstrated a superb arrogance byignoring family members relaying medical history information. Dr. Ramos demonstrated he was "Very busy" - Too busy, in-fact, to read patients post-op history of previous hospitalizations.Dr. Ramos reversed himself on one coarse of patient care; Corrected another mistake at insistence of patients relatives. Another mistake in care was caught and corrected by another physician.Dr. Ramos seems, in fear of being questioned, so intent on ignoring the very PRESENCE of patients parents that he could not discern patient was so un-cognizant as to not even remember his visit. In short, Dr. Ramos unprofessional distractions and closed-mindedness make him a poor candidate to handle more than one patient at a time. He is unable to foresee implications of recent past history until this visibly, negatively affects patient.… As he seems more comfortable talking to patients who are comatose with medications, or can not ask questions, Perhaps Dr. Ramos would find a better calling in the veterinary services.
