Dr. Jeffrey B Rich, MD

I met Dr. Rich in an emergency situation. I went to the ER after several days of medication for bronchitis left me feeling much weaker. I was admitted and diagnosed with endocarditis which destroyed a heart valve within hours sending this bacterial infection to my major organs. After being closely monitored on strong antibiotics, Dr. Rich and a team of other specialists took me into surgery to replace my destroyed valve with a bovine heart valve. My surgery was exceptionally risky because of the endocarditis which was improving due to the medications but not totally clear. Although I knew I was in a life threatening situation I had no hesitation trusting Dr. Rich . He explained everything very clearly to my family prior to surgery and afterwards came to see me every day to check on my progress. He was a very kind, extremely knowledgable physician.

This Doctor is being investigated for his lack of care concerning a patient he was caring for at a free clinic. The patient has been 6 months without medication because of his lack of care. She has high blood pressure which he knows requires medication.This is inexcusable.

I have been waiting 5 months to get my much needed blood pressure med.

HAD 8CM ANEURYSM ON MY AORTA AND A SPIRAL TEAR. ALSO HAS A HEART MURMUR. DR. RICH PERFORMED EXTENSIVE SURGERY REPLACING THE AORTIC VALVE AND AORTA. HE SAVED MY LIFE. RECOVERY AFTER SURGERY WAS QUICK AND WITH ONLY SOME MINOR DISCOMFORT NOT PAIN. HIS STAFF PROVIDED EXCELLENT CARE AFTER THE SURGERY AND FOLLOWED UP ON MY RECOVERY.
