My Elderly, demented mother's service was refused and her account was 'blocked' from scheduling treatment appoints with no explanation or notice. The 'Policy' of flagging accounts and refusing service is a policy created and implemented by this office without regard for checking on each patients needs, circumstances of the patient or the family. In my mother's case, she has both Medicare and GHI supplement. Her aide escorts her to her appointments and was given no explanation nor was the family. The billing vendor claimed three different reasons for refusal of service- none of which were accurate. The 'policy' requires credit cards be 'left on file' with open permission to charge- and the office does not mail (nor email) ANY statements for any balances due. In our case, there was NO balance due, there was no reason for blocking my mother's service. This office does NOT operate like other dermatology offices in the Plainview/Bethpage area. Our family is outraged by the 'anti- patient'… policy and the fact that this practice is definitely not seeking to treat SICK patients with skin cancer but rather focus on cosmetic patients. The name of this practice should be the key factor in determining if this doctor is the right environments for anyone with MEDICAL issues vs Cosmetic Issues since Credit Cards on carte blanche approval seems to be the priority criteria for treating any patient.

This is a HORRIBLE doctor!! He and the office staff lie to the patients!! I spent $650 on silicone injections and was told to wait 1 month for results. Another set of injections was due in 2 months. After 2 months, my acne scarring has no difference!!! Friends and family say it looks the same. The stupid lady Janice is horrible too, she is super condescending and told me I had to wait 1 month for results, now that I told her there are no results she tells me to wait 2-3 months!! DISGUSTING!! Doctor did a horrible job!!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

The office staff are rude and very short with you. To get a call back is impossible and they try and push there online pharmacy on you so they don't have to do the work . I would think this is at least unethical if maybe illegal.

I called for an appt. and was treated like I was a drug addict asking for free drugs !!! Incredibly rude staff, almost hurtful. Practically told me to shut up. All I wanted was an appointment because I noticed a growth on my skin. I had one removed before that turned out to be cancerous, so I was concerned. I was told it would be 3 WEEKS before I could be seen and was yelled at on the phone for inquiring if they had anything earlier. When I arrived they said I had to pay before I could be seen and demanded my insurance card. They didn't even ask why I was there. They should ALL be fired. Why does this practice keep them around???

The office staff is the WORST very very nasty don't know how he keeps them. To talk on the phone to make appointments forget it needs to get some new careing people .I stay been going there for years I do like DR Sklar

I trust him implicitly. He's not overly friendly, but I trust his judgement.

Dr. Sklar's front desk was very unprofessional and rude. They had absolutely no concern for their patients. Dr. Sklar was very arrogant and uncaring. I never experienced being in a doctor's office where a doctor just stood there thinking not knowing what to do or how to react to a patients medical problem. He actually asked me to call my previous doctor from his office to ask him about previous medical services I received???????? His fancy credentials due not match the doctor. I was wondering why it was so easy to make an appointment to see him. I strongly advise using another doctor.

Unfriendly attitude by Sklar and some staff. Appeared to display a total lack of concern for patients. Unimpressed by his bedside manner as well as his professionalism. Staff learned well and acted like him.

When walking into Aesthetic Dermatology, you are welcomed by a friendly staff. They make sure that all information is correct in your file to make the experience go as smooth as possible (from beginning to end). I was seen By Dr. Sklar who has a great personality and addressed all my concerns and made sure before I left the exam room he explained everything that I thought was an issue. He even walked me through how I can take care of the issue at home. I was referred by a friend who has been going there for years to see Dr. Melman. I would recommend anyone to go Aesthetic Dermatology, it's a comforting feeling knowing you are in good hands.

Spent a couple of minutes with me. He has no pernality. Does not allow you to fully explain the reason for your visit. Alway in a rush to get out of the exam room. He has his assitant complete minor procedure and walks out of the room.
