Dr. Jeffrey Paul Staab, MD

i was told when I was discharged from the hospital at mayo clinic that they put my name on the list to be admitted to a specialized clinic which can help with my disorder. During my visit with this doctor, he told me that he was sorry because I should have never been told that this clinic exists because it does not. i was so upset. Later I find out thru Mayo Clinic that this special clinic does indeed exist and showed me on their computer. I am furious because Dr Staab looked me in the eye and lied to me. I am sure that I am not the first person he has lied to. As a result, my hope for treatment came to an end. be careful too when a doctor is quick to make assumptions about you. This has definitely made me want to pursue help elsewhere and leaves a bad taste in my mouth for Mayo Clinic.

Went to Mayo for several issues, one of which was constant dizziness and balance issues. I was scheduled to see neurology and somehow ended up talking to Jeffrey Staab. I mentioned several crucial things, including: severe pain and dizziness when standing, vision issues, diagnosed nystagmus that literally came on over-night...weird things a person isn't used to. He immediately started pulling psychological and psychosomatic causation, which effectively ended my treatment at Mayo. After seeking a second opinion, I had a CSF leak in my spine causing all of this. Nothing psychological about it, just a lot of spinal fluid leaking and a sinking brain. Makes more sense to me. I looked up his credentials as his diagnosis seriously screwed me over for being further evaluated at Mayo, and he is heavily biased and trained toward anything psychiatry or psychology related. I advise him to be more open-minded and educated about more conditions that don't fit into his spectrum. He put my life in… danger and I will never forget this.

The best doctor I have ever seen! Worth the wait and the long drive from Oklahoma to Minnesota. His knowledge and bedside manner are unmatched. One visit and had a diagnosis after 10 years of doctors and tests and no answers. The Mayo clinic and it's doctors are truly a blessing!
