As long as you cater to his ego, flatter his credentials, avoid appearing more knowledgeable than he is, and refrain from quoting his own report language back to him—since he will resent that—be prepared for a deposition-style approach, a harsh bedside manner, and intentionally vague recommendations that provide little clarity, guidance, or timelines. You will likely be led down a path designed to justify his continued involvement, deliberately structured to sustain an open-ended, commercially driven dynamic that benefits him financially above all else.

Our family experience with Dr. Jeff Stein was awful. He met with me in a large older building in Salem, Massachusetts. The building was empty, I didn’t see another living soul and when I got to Dr. Stein’s office I was let in through a security door to a sparse office. During our meeting, we were totally alone and at times I felt physically threatened by Dr. Stein who was aggressive and violative of my personal space. As for the substance I believe he cut and pastes from other family’s reports, does the minimum and is interested only in his fees. He has done irreparable damage to my children. Please take a hard pass on using him as a Guardian Ad Litem, GAL or Psychologist.

Made up things and a narcissist

Dr. Frankenstein as my daughters called him was very, very bias in to my ex because the judge ordered him to pay, He put his own wording (not mine or my daughters) into his report), mixing up names or wording. If you asked him questions, he was done with you or did not use the persons/counselors interview in his report. His report was bogus.! This man is totally unethical and should be reported.

Biased. Blatantly dishonest. Should be reported to ethics board.

He is judgmental and mean

No compassion, bias from the get go. Report and Investigation was not completed in a fair way and had absolutely no interest in investigating both parents in the same way. Due process was not a concern, no bedside manner and completely narcissistic, arrogant and rude. I do not recommend him in any way shape or form, the only thing I’d recommend him to Is the ethics board!
