Dr. Jeffrey Mark Stevens, DO

Sorry to lose him as my family doctor as he moves out of state. He was great with my husband and I as he knows a lot of sports medicine. He was great with all my kids, they didn't even mind going to see him. He was great with some of my issues as he had personal experience in that area. He knew my families background and our personalities and always took the time to get to know what was really going on. By far the nicest doctor I've had, we even stayed with him when he moved about 25 minutes farther away because we didn't want to lose such a great doctor. Very sad to see him go.

I saw Dr. Stevens because I was feeling tired all the time and feeling worse every day. He diagnosed me with "old age". He did blood work and his office called the next day to say that my kidneys were working too hard and I should cut back on my blood pressure med which I did. Two days after I saw him in his office, I ended up in intensive care for two days with a very serious kidney infection that had entered my blood stream. I was in the hospital 4 days. When I ended up in ICU, my daughter called the office and very calmly notified the doctor. A week after dismissal from the hospital, I had labwork done and made a follow-up appointment with Dr. Stevens. My appointment is in two days and today I recevied a certified letter from him saying that he is dismissing me from his practice and that I will only be covered for 30 days while I retain another physician. I cannot be seen as a new patient at another practice for over two months and therefore am left "up in the air". I am 86… years old and feel that this is completely unethical.

He has a terrible bedside manner, I went to him for a year. When I saw him for appendicitis he told me to stop crying after he prodded the area, which was painful. He was rude and told me I was wasting his time. He wants to make an appointment for everything, even prescription changes on harmless things, like birth control or antibiotics (I was on a few that made me sick and he demanded he wouldn't change the prescription without me coming in) I've wasted enough time at his office. Don't go to him; though the people at the desk are very compassionate, he is NOT.

Dr. Stevens is easy to get along with, but he is always rushing and is very hesitant to refer. The most frustrating problem he has is that he markets Metro Health's in-house services aggressively, encouraging patients to purchase Metro's products even when prescriptions would cost them much, much less money.
