Dr. Jeffrey Reed Thompson, MD

I was referred to Dr. Thompson by my internist because of declining kidney function. My first visit with Dr. Thompson, he was in the examining room with me for almost 2 hours. Stepped out once for about five minutes to review some tests. Second time, he was with me about an hour. Thorough, humorous, took care to explain everything that is going on. What more could you want?

Dr. Thompson is extremely thorough with my kidney problems. I have not had to wait more than 5-10 minutes in his office. His staff He takes his time and explains what is going on and why. His bedside manner could not be any more pleasant. I am very fortunate to have found such a wonderful doctor.

His bedside manner was absolutely awful. He was rude and condescending throughout my visit, like I was taking up too much of his time or I was an inconvenience. Not sure how he gets the reviews he does. I will not be repeating a visit to his clinic and will never recommend him.

I could write volumes about Dr. Thompson, but I will keep it short. He has been taking care of me since my kidney/pancreas transplant in 2002 and I could not be happier. He keeps a great staff of highly qualified nurses who are very quick to see me and my wait to see him is usually under 30 minutes. He treats the whole body and doesn't just treat his specialty and then hand you off to someone else. That is not to say, when I have needed or requested a specialist, he was quick to refer me and give me a little "back story" about who I am going to see. He has really pulled me out of some rough situations and I think it is fair to say that he saved my transplanted organs and prevented me from having to have another transplant or go on dialysis right after my transplant in 2002.
