Dr. Jeffrey Park Wood, MD

Dr. Jeff P Wood signed off on my radiology reports after I was taken by ambulance to Dell Seton hospital due to being in a horrific car accident. He said my x-rays were “normal” and I was released very quickly. WEEKS later they are reviewed again by another doctor, and I had a very clearly broken pelvis in 2 different spots, as well as a fracture in my hip joint (thankfully I learned this before then.) My 10 year old sister could have pointed out the fractures they were so obvious. My life was put at risk due to his ignorance and inability to even look at my scans. Seek caution when you see his name by your reports, and don’t believe anything. Always get a second opinion.

Before my hip injection I was so nervous I wanted to vomit. Dr. Wood said calmly, "It looks like you're nervous. Let me tell you more about this procedure, and hopefully we can address why you're nervous." He walked me through it and I explained I was afraid he wouldn't get the needle in the right place. He compared the procedure to driving somewhere he'd been 1000 times, and still using GPS (the x-ray). That made me feel much better. I was very thankful that he didn't belittle my concern, even though it turned out to be unfounded (he did get the needle in the right place very efficiently). He made small talk while he was setting things up, gave me the option of watching the x-ray screen or not, and he also recommended me to a better hip doctor. Though actually getting stuff injected into a hip joint is not very fun, I left with a smile on my face.
