Dr. Jeffrey Scott Zapalac, DDS

Dr. Zapalac is a native of Austin.  His degrees and training are all from the University of Texas System. His undergraduate degree is from UT Austin and his graduate degrees from the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston.  He received his D.D.S. in 1976 and M.S. in 1978. 
He opened his practice in Austin after completing his two-year orthodontic residency training, also
in 1978.  During the ensuing 30 years, he has stayed abreast of the most progressive technological and theoretical advances in orthodontics via continuing education courses, seminars, and mini-residencies. 
His professional interests include interceptive treatment on younger patients
(age 6 and up), conventional treatment on pre-teens and teenagers, as well as comprehensive orthodontic treatment for adults. 
"My goal is to achieve the optimal esthetic and functional results for each patient and to do this whenever possible without removing permanent teeth.  For some this means starting orthodontics at an …earlier age and for most this means a close coordination with your general dentist and/or other dental specialist." 
Dr. Zapalac is experienced in the use of all types of orthodontic appliances, from standard braces to the clear (transparent) braces and the new braceless treatment called “Invisalign”.  There are a variety of factors that determine the most suitable treatment for you, the patient.  Due to significant advances in orthodontics and Dr. Zapalac’s desire to offer individualized treatment options, results can be achieved that were not possible even 10 years ago.
