Dr. Jeffrey Michael Zurosky, MD

Saw him at ER after excessively bleeding for over 3 weeks and growing concerned as this never happened before. He was arrogant, not honest about testing that was possible, showed so little concern with his poorly placed jokes and arguing with me that it was not serious. Another doctor found something serious indeed 4 days later because he actually ran the appropriate tests & imaging. Dr. Z provides very poor quality care- avoid him.

My son had a peanut reaction from a slice of homemade wheat bread while on vacation in Knoxville and when the OTC drugs were not quite controlling things we decided we needed to take him for immediate care. He was seen by Dr. Zurosky (for about 15 minutes) who gave him care that I was satisfied with. My Shock was when today, nearly 10 months later, we finally recieved the bill "For the Doctor's Portion" (we had alreay paid hundreds to the hospital) : for $967. This is not our first ER visit (sadly, they manage to hide peanut stuff in all kinds of things!) But this is the first time that between the hospital and the Doctor we are well over $1000 in expenses for the 15 minutes of care recieved. I'm writing this review NOT because I'm unhappy with Dr. Zurosky - but rather because I feel terribly abused by the system that takes an emergency situation and can cause a secondary emergency situation when the outrageous charges hit your home budget. I am appalled. I'm appalled at the… length of time it took to get the bill. I'm apalled at the expense of it. Can Medicine really be good if in the end the expense makes you sick?
