She was prescribing a eye medication for my father for a virus. Ended up being a horrible infection that doubled with her prescription. He may now lose his eye.

Dr Young performed upper eyelid surgery on me and I am very happy with the results. My range of vision has improved greatly as well as my appearance - no more "hoods" over my eyelids! I would highly recommend Dr Young.

She is what you want in an eye doctor. She's very bright and carefully considers what needs to be done in your case. Some give bad reviews because they had to wait too long or because she is not "chatty" enough. If you care more about your eyes than a quick office visit or a finding a new "best friend", then Dr. Young is the better choice.

She is great with kids and adults alike. Made my daughter and son feel very comfortable at each appointment.

Dr. Young and her staff are meticulous and extraordinarily professional. Before my cataract surgery I was evaluated and re evaluated and tested and tested some more to become as prepared as humanly possible. She is able to convey very technical information in an understandable way. I would highly recommend her.

I recently visited her and she made me wait for 1 hr until i almost decided to leave. She barely examined my eyes before jumping to writing me prescription for glasses. Not only i will not buy the glasses i regreted my first visit and i wish i have been to the vogue vision in des moines, he is an amazing ophtha...no question asked. I am surprised by her high rating. As a budding medical student i know how patients should be treated.

This doctor pushed me to have surgery when not necessary only because the insurance company would pay. Suspect this and got a second opinion. Confirmed. Always get a second opinion if you use this doctor.

Dr. Young performed an upper lid eye lift on my aging eyes and the results were wonderful. The surgery went without any hitches and the results were well beyond what I expected. I experienced no pain and within five days of the surgery my eyes were much improved and I was out and about running errands. The difference between my "before" pictures and "after" pictures were shocking. I did not realize how much my right eye drooped until I was shown my before surgery pictures. This procedure was to improve my eyesight, but the cosmetic outcome was surprising. She is a talented surgeon and someone I would recommend to family and friends. The surgery team was wonderful and I experienced no problems following the surgery. Sincere gratitude to Dr. Young and her talented team of assistants. My eyesight is much improved thanks to the removal of excess skin and weak eyelid muscles. A reluctant patient with a whole different outlook. Thank you.

I have had several appointments with Dr. Young over the past 9 months and have felt confident about her diagnosis and grateful for both her care and the care of those in the office. She identified the cause of what had been bothering me for several years. Dr. Young has been working diligently with my other doctors to continue my care and I am beyond thankful for that. I feel so fortunate we have a fantastic doctor such as Dr. Young in Des Moines and would recommend her!

Physician's Eye clinic was on call for my dad's usual opthalmalogist, Dr Clavenna, who was out of town at the time. My father had some blood vessels that erupted in his left eye. I was worried due to his history of glaucoma and diabetes. He saw Dr Young and she acted annoyed with my father's appointment while we there. We were treated as we were wasting her time and was told to make an appointment with Dr Clavenna when he returns to his office. Worst of all I was horrified to overhear my father as being referred to the medicaid patient. My father has medicare and medicaid and should not be treated any differently because after all the office was paid for the useless appointment.
