Though her office wasnt very appealing her staff was great and I found Dr. Nepomuceno to be very thorough and caring. She took time to explain treatment plan and rational.

In spite of arriving with documentation in hand to explain my urgent and life-threatening situation, this physician and the ER physician and Physician Assistant chose to focus on making me a "psychiatric" patient rather than a neurological crisis patient. On the upside, since I was then assigned a psychiatrist, he wisely made the distinction that symptoms were due to medication I was given that worsened the condition. . The medication, combined with my symptoms and being completely unable to sleep for over 5 was a "perfect storm". The paperwork I had brought to the ER, (written by one of two eminent specialist in this disease) outlined symptoms, treatment and potential adverse effects to look for. Had this physician or the ER staff bothered to read it, it is likely I would not have had to go to the ER twice, be admitted and treated as a psychiatric patient when it was clearly related to medication for the neurological disease I suffer from.
