Summary
Dr. Jennifer Alvarez grew up in suburban Philadelphia, PA. She went to college at Ohio Wesleyan University, where she majored in English in addition to her premedical studies. She earned her medical degree from Temple University, in Philadelphia, and completed her pediatric residency at Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. In Cincinnati, Dr. Alvarez met and married Dr. David Sapp, and after residency they returned to Dr. Sapp’s hometown of Pikeville, TN, to practice primary pediatrics. Dr. Alvarez recently completed her Pediatrics Board recertification. Dr. Alvarez and Dr. Sapp have three children, and enjoy camping, hiking, gardening, and traveling. Dr. Alvarez has done medical work in many different countries, including Guatemala, Honduras, Ecuador, and Kenya, and their family looks forward to doing overseas medical work again as their children get a bit older.
