I highly recommend her she listens and is very caring. She follows through on your care and makes sure you are well taken care of thoroughly.

By far one of the best pediatricians and primary care dr. She cares so much for her patients and takes care of them fully. I’ve been seeing her for 20 years and my daughter since she was born and I’ve never once had a problem. Dr. Carandang and her office staff are always caring, kind, and generous. I was a patient of Dr. Carandang’s for approximately 20 years when I lived in Ohio. She was one of the major reasons I didn’t want to move out of state. She is thorough, kind, compassionate, very knowledgeable and takes a personal interest in you. She’d call me sometimes to tell me “she’d been thinking about me and (whatever I was seeing her for) and “let’s have you try this” - this would sometimes be 5 - 7 days after my appointment! Betty is wonderful as is her receptionist. I miss that office so much. I haven’t found someone who even comes close to her here in FL.

I’m a UH employee and I’m taking our business to MERCY, what does that tell you? Very dissatisfied and it saddens me how my newborn was treated. Our 2 month old was due for his shots, went to his appt and after waiting 2 hours (and being told someone was on the way with the vaccines from another office) we were finally told they didn’t have the vaccines and told we would get a call the next day when they came in. The nurse admitted they didn’t look on the schedule to see he needed his vaccines and said we were the “guinea pigs”. I ended up calling the office at the end of the next day as no one called and was told the vaccines won’t be in for TWO WEEKS and to go to the department of health if I didn’t want to wait for them to come in! *please know that he has been coming to the office since he was born.* Someone could have called and let us know they didn’t have any vaccines so we could plan accordingly. My husband, newborn and I were all patients of Dr Carandang. … Unfortunately the patient care was terrible. We decided to leave her practice, now go to Mercy Avon. If she would’ve talked to me an apologized for the offices incompetence we likely would have given her another shot. Dr Carandang, please evaluate your office staff , this should never occur... and you let 3 patients leave you practice for good. You are a pediatrician and my newborn needed care, and you didn’t deliver. **I don’t care if you office is in the process of moving, if you can’t take care of your very young patients close your office during the transition. Your receptionist and nurse were disrespectful and unapologetic. Update: I did receive a call from the supervisor two days later to “talk about things” but I did not return the call as my baby received shots the very next day the the Mercy Avon location. No need to discuss when we’ve already left the practice.

She is the most thorough and understanding Dr my 3 children ever had! Hands down, my kids are 4-17, and the oldest has been through a lot of physcians. She misses nothing in a check up, and investigates every concern. Wish she never left Westshore
