Dr. Jennifer Deconde, MD

It was my first visit with Dr. Bennitt. She was caring, thorough, and seemed knowledgeable. She made me feel comfortable right away by being non- judgmental and actively listening to my questions and concern. The support staff was excellent, from the receptionist, to the nurses, lab attendants, x-ray technician, and EKG nurse. All were friendly and positive in their interaction with me.Glad I switched to UCLA from my old doctor, whom I felt treated me like just a number.

Although Dr. Bennitt is pleasant, friendly and seems to care, she also seems to be uncomfortable addressing the impact of my psychiatric disorder and menopause on my medical conditions. Additionally, she did not follow accepted standards in treating my diabetes when my blood sugar level sky rocketed- I get the feeling she just doesn't take parts of my health seriously, while being attentive to other parts.

My experience with the UCLA medical group, from reception, referrals, nurses, Dr. Bennitt could not have been more positive. Dr. Bennitt responded via e-mail in a timely, professional, efficient and kind manner, even before we actually met. Upon meeting, she responded in the same way, was very attentive and responded sensitively and effectively. I never felt rushed and felt that Dr. Bennitt understood the urgency of my condition(s) and acted immediately to direct me to the required specialists. I highly recommend her and the support staff with which she is associated.

I'm really weary of doctors so I was worried about going to a new one but Dr. Bennitt proved to be really helpful, comforting, and professional. She's a smart woman and if she doesn't know something, she has no problem looking to other doctors/sources to find out (which is wayyy better than letting your ego pretend to know). Shes not at all judgmental and jokes around so I feel totally comfortable telling her the most awkward of situations. She definitely knows what shes doing and is really cool.

Dr. Bennitt seems knowledgeable, and she is board certified. She did not know a couple of things I would expect an internist to know, but she appears eager to learn. Her age (she graduated from medical school in 2007) tells on her a little, but she is very thorough, going so fasr as to ask me to send her the last lab results from my former physician. She took 45 minutes for a new patient exam- that's just awesome. Overall, I think she is competent and worth seeing.
