Dr. Jennifer Newell Ferris, MD

Dr. Ferris is great with both of my daughters. She makes them feel comfortable and and gives them a sticker after each visit, which they both love. She is also very knowledgeable and up-to-date on pediatric care. When my youngest broke out in red spots I was afraid she had chicken pox or even measles. Dr. Ferris positively ID'd it as molluscum contagiosum. She was right and my daughter was fine. It's great having a doctor who really knows what she's doing.

Dr. Ferris is wonderful. All three of my children see her now. She is extremely kind and answers any and all questions I ever have.

Dr. Ferris has a great way with kids -- her "bircalls" she does when she looks in my daughter's ear are wonderful. I know that sounds like a small thing, but with a kiddo who has ear infections, I appreciate a doctor who tries to put kids at ease before examining them.I will say that, as mentioned by another reviewer, we were sent to the ER once for something that turned out to be nothing. But, honestly, I'd rather be safe than sorry with my baby!

Dr. Ferris is condescending and rude to parents who don't fully vaccinate their children. She projects a disdain of the parents' opinions onto the children and, I believe, treats them differently. She once spent 20 minutes lecturing me on vaccines and completely dismissed my 10 month old daughter's fever. Also, instead of actually treating the children in the office for common childhood ailments (like Croup), she passes the buck to the nearest ER, where we sat for 3 hours during the H1N1 pandemic with a baby who was not particularly sick, but coughing. The baby was NOT an ER case. We received the same treatment in ER that we could have gotten in office. When she is through talking to you, she is THROUGH. She will walk out on you. Also, she has prescribed medications that other doctors have declared to be "overkill." She, frankly, does not seem to like children (maybe it's just MY children, because they're not vaccinated?) I would not recommend her to anyone.
