Jennifer Gero, MD

Dr. Jennifer Gero, MD is the current interim Chief Medical Officer at Southwest Health System. Dr. Gero helps with the recruitment and retention of providers. In addition, acts as provider representative to senior leadership council. Dr. Gero works directly with the medical staff and helps oversee medical staff affairs. Dr. Gero is dedicated to the overall well-being of medical staff and working as team.

Dr. Gero joined SHS in 2016 as an Emergency Medicine physician. She now currently provides care at the Walk-In Clinic. She also serves as the Medical Director of the Walk-In Clinic and is the current Southwest Medical Director. This role oversees outpatient clinics.

Dr. Gero grew up in North Dakota and completed her medical schooling at the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences. She then completed Emergency Medicine residency at Grand Rapids Medical Education Partners in Grand Rapids, MI. Dr. Gero is board certified by the American Board of Emergency …Medicine.

Dr. Gero loves Southwest Colorado and enjoys doing various alpine activities with her husband and two beloved dogs.
