I went to the ER at San Antonio hospital just this past week and this doctor was very personable she made me feel calmer when I felt very scared and i was in pain. amongst everything she was dealing with she reminded me that her and the staff were there for me. great doctor!!

I went to San Antonio Hospital ER last weekend with my son who was swelling from an allergic reaction. I first went to the urgent care but they sent me to the ER. My waiting experience at the ER is a whole other drama but this review is for the DR. Heppner, specifically. While she was nice as a person I found her completely incompetent as a professional as far as diagnosing my son correctly. She diagnosed my son with "ring worm and possible cellulitis" and prescribed him an anti fungal cream and an antibiotic suspension. When I asked whether oxistat (another anti fungal cream ) would work for that matter she said she didn't know what that was. After going to my son's pediatrician on Monday he was correctly diagnosed with chronic urticaria. I was giving my son and antibiotic for no reason. Yet, a single dose of prednisolone steroid at the pediatrician's office and antihistamines around the clock, solved my son's issue. I spent 6 hours at the ER, my son was misdiagnosed, given… meds that would've caused more damage ( the antibiotic affecting his gut flora) and now I'm getting a $2000 bill from them.
