She is the best!!!

Dr Hester is SMART and asks questions then she makes diagnosis. She does not jump to conclusions.

I loved the fact that she listened to me and really tried to find something that would help me.

I was 10 minutes late due to traffic. I was told I would have to reschedule. Having been on the road for 45 minutes I was frustrated. I told that to the office person. She said she would have to ask her if she would see me. While waiting for an answer I spoke to a woman who had been waiting for her doctor who is also in this office for 45 minutes. After about 10 minutes I was told she would not see me. I have been a patient of hers for about 10 years. Very frustrating. I will not go back. So why is it ok for a doctor to be over 45 minutes late and it's ok, but a patient is a few minutes late and your appointment is canceled?

Dr. Hester and her staff may be a great fit for some patients, but definitely not for me. I don't trust her or the staff at her office. I'd been looking for a primary care doctor in Saint Louis for some time now and was recommended to her through the WashU network. However, her office hours in no way can accommodate to my work schedule (even though I had specified to pair me with an office that can), and when she didn't have any answers to my health issues, she was rude in answering my questions, and suggested that I see an endocrinologist. That's good and fine, and she said she'd have her receptionist send me a list of recommendations in the network, but instead, two weeks later, I get a letter from an endocrinologist office telling me I have an appointment scheduled for the following Wednesday during my work hours. My job does not allow me to just ask off without a lot of notice like that, so when I tried to call, the endocrinologists' office, I come to find their hours were from… 7:30 to 4pm, just like Hester's. Unfortunately, I work from 6 am to 5:30 pm, and would never be able to call to cancel the appointment because of my job. I just received a bill from the endocrinologist for an appointment I NEVER AUTHORIZED DR. HESTER'S OFFICE TO MAKE ON MY BEHALF for $186 for not showing up. This is absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable. I will never be returning to her office, and I would advise patients who are looking for a new GP to look for somewhere else, too.

Great doctor but long wait times

Helpful, a great listener and full of resources. Dr. Hester is exceptional!!! And so is the lady drawing blood in the lab--no pain whatsoever!

She is very hurried when seeing the patient. Seems unsure and tends to hesitate to treat common illnesses and make referrals. I tried to do an e-visit for a cough (that way they can charge the copay instead of calling in a script) I waited all day then received a call to go to urgent care, which costs double at least for me. I stated I had already been to Walgreens and was told they are only nurse practitioners and I needed to see an MD? Isn't that what my internist is for?? Hope this review decreases her patient load so she can be a better physician.

Dr. Hester is an excellent PCP. She is always on time and listens to my concern and has excellent follow-up.
