Dr. Jennifer Johnson is a Therapeutic Optometrist and Optometric Glaucoma Specialist who has wanted to be an optometrist since middle school. At age four she was diagnosed with accommodative esotropia and hyperopia, was prescribed her first pair of eyeglasses, and began vision therapy. That experience opened a new visual world to her and sparked her lifelong passion for eye care.

Longing for her small‑town roots and hoping to practice in a close‑knit community, Jennifer and her family moved to Boerne, Texas, in 2009. In 2011 she joined Boerne Vision Center, where she developed close personal relationships with many community members. While on staff she participated in and graduated from Leadership Boerne, sponsored by the Boerne Chamber of Commerce. She joined the board of the Rainbow Senior Center at Kronkosky Place in 2012 and was named Boerne Business Woman of the Year in 2015.

After more than 17 years of clinical experience and mentorship from talented optometry professionals, …and following prayerful consideration and family support, Jennifer founded Johnson Eye Care in Boerne in August 2017 to realize her dream of owning her own practice.

Can always get an appointment in an emergency. The Dr was ready to see me in the pm . I appreciate the good care and info the Dr went thru when she checked my eyes . The treatment she recommended reduced my eye pain and was very effective in my eye treatment. Her office worker was courteous and effective in getting me in that day. Thank you!

I had an irritated eye that was getting worse by the day. Dr. Johnson's office got me in quickly. I was seen, diagnosed and treated in a professional manner by Dr. Johnson. My eye feels great now, too!

I recently visited Dr. Johnson, and I couldn’t be more impressed with the experience. From the moment I walked in, the staff was incredibly welcoming, and the office was clean and modern. Dr. Johnson took the time to thoroughly explain the entire eye exam process and made sure I felt comfortable every step of the way. Not only was the exam very thorough, but Dr. Johnson also gave me great advice on maintaining eye health, how to improve my condition and answered all my questions with patience and expertise. I left feeling confident about my eye care, and I highly recommend Dr. Johnson to anyone looking for a knowledgeable and compassionate eye doctor!

My husband and I had appointments on the same day half an hour apart. We were both seen quickly. Dr. Johnson is very professional and answers all of our questions. The lady at the front desk is also very nice and helpful.

Dr, Johnson was very thorough in checking my eyes. Looked at my cataracts and retina as well as checking my eyesight.She goes above and beyond what you ask her to do! I felt she was very knowledgeable!
