Dr. Jennifer Laing, MD

Very Disappointed. I have limited PTO and I was really looking forward to speaking with the doctor. After a long time in the waiting room I finally saw Dr. Laing. During the visit I mentioned three health issues that I'm struggling with 2 of which need prescriptions. She didn't ask questions or address two of them! After the brief visit she disappeared to write notes and I had to wait again for a long time until she came back. At the last minute of the appt., while walking away from me, she remembered that I needed one of the prescriptions and then disappeared. What? How is this a quality visit? I wasn't listened to or respected. I could have stayed home with my PTO. Needless to say, I won't be coming back. Writing this review so others won't waste their time.

My mother is 65, she has never touched drugs in her life. Dr. Laing drug tested her on 2nd visit then charges in the patient room stating she came back positive for meth. Not taking into account for false positives from sinus headache medication. Then told my mother she would "fire her" if she is doing meth and sent lab off to San Diego for a test "that would hold up in a court of law". Well no shocker here that the results were in fact a false positive. Then to go over the result of false positive she would have to pay for another office visit. I do not recommend this woman to anyone. Horrible person!!!

Very unprofessional bedside manner, I was accused of testing positive for amphetamines, would have further testing of my sample sent to at an official lab in San Diego and results would stand up in Court Record. I was told she would "fire me" as a patient for doing drugs...this was prior to her saying "well it could be a false positive ". This should have been stated upfront before I received her mentally abusive accusations. I had to be proactive to follow up for the final lab results. I was told test was negative as I knew it would. However to discuss the full report I would have to pay an office visit to discuss this completd report. As a final comment from a 66 year of age woman, I will never step foot in her office again, I would not trust any evaluation from her. Dr Lainge, I have "FIRED" you.

I wish I could give separate stars for the doctor and the staff. I'd give her five and the staff two. After waiting over a week for a call that was supposed to come the day after my first visit, I drove to the office to inquire about my subsequent phone calls not being returned and the woman at the front desk offered no apology or explanation. She merely told me that they don't have a full staff. No smiles, no understanding, no compassion for my issues. I thought the doctor was great when I saw her, but waited over a week to get appointments for follow up procedures set. Horrible communication system.

Rating for Doctor = 5; rating for staff = 2 I absolutely love Dr. Jennifer Laing. However, her office staff leaves much to be desired. My insurance requires referrals and will assign an authorization number. Each specialist requires a referral. I have been referred to specialists and no referral was sent to the insurance company. I don't know if it is lack of training or just negligence, As a result, I don't know whether to keep my appointment or not.

Once you make your appointment, the wait is HORRIBLE! We have waited almost 2 hours and just had to walk out! Dr Laing has filled out my prescription and had someone else's name on it, had a different name on test orders, or just failed to send orders over for blood work - so we have had to make a trip back to her office on SEVERAL occasions or had to call (which usually get a vm). It becomes a hassle for older people. It is frightening to think that IF a wrong name could be placed on a prescription, it could just as easily have the right name on the WRONG prescription ---THAT'S SCARY. I know everyone makes mistakes, but this has happened to us on several occasions and it makes us concerned, not just for ourselves, but to all of her patients. It seems that they are overbooking and under-staffed, which causes mistakes to happen. She is a thorough and caring physician, but she is overloaded with patients. It appears like she needs a second person helping her treat her patients!

The staff at this office constantly turns off the phone so that patients can't get through. They never return calls. They constantly reschedule appointments at the last minute. Terrible practice. Horrible hours. Once you FINALLY get an appointment you sit in the office for hours. Heads up.... The number to the back line is 903-891-3167. They hate you calling this number but how in the world do they expect you to get a hold of your doctor who is suppose to be caring for you medically when they turn off the phones.!!! If at all possible - CHANGE YOUR PRIMARY CARE.

She is a wonderful doctor and well worth the wait time!!!!

I have been seeing Dr. Laing since 2004. She is not what one thinks of when they think of a traditional doctor, but she is a very good, caring & compassionate doctor. She practices both traditional and holistic medicine, if you are not comfortable with holistic medicine she sticks with traditional medicine. You never feel rushed, she listens carefully and is very easy to talk to. Yes, sometimes you have to wait longer than you might like but you are waiting because she is taking the time with another patient. If your situation requires more time than normal rest assured she will spend the needed time with you.

Plan on waiting to see Dr. Laing. However, she is well worth the wait. Be assured that she will spend as much time with you as she did with the patient that had you waiting. She never rushes you. She spends time with you and cares about you as a person. You are more than just a vessel holding symptoms.
