Dr. Jennifer A. Langsdorf, MD

I went into my appointment with Dr. Langsdorf hoping to get guidance regarding a serious symptom I am encountering due to L5 radiculopathy. Unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. The doctor’s bedside manner was cold and unwelcoming from the beginning of the visit through the end. I felt there was confusion about why I was there instead of at the place that performed an EMG. The doctor repeatedly brought this up, which left me feeling as though my decision to make the appointment myself rather than through a referral was being questioned. At the conclusion of the visit when I asked about my treatment options, I was essentially told there were none. Receiving difficult news is one thing; receiving it without empathy or compassion is another. I left feeling dismissed, discouraged, and without any meaningful guidance or next steps. While the doctor may be knowledgeable, I did not feel heard, supported, or cared for as a patient. Based on my experience, I would not return… to this practice.

Excellent knowledge of my condition. Very affable and straight to the point. I’ve seen here for years and I recommend her to all.

I found her to be very bright and personable. She had reviewed my records at Weil Cornell and was very much aware of what was going on with me. She asked relevant questions. She provided me with thorough directions. She answered all my questions. I did not feel rushed. I am very happy with the visit and will continue to stay under Dr. Langsdorf's care.

Dr. Langsdorf did not bother to look at my records from previous visits even though this was a follow up visit about worsening symptoms. I had to remind her of a test she had done on me in the past. Unfortunately the images another doctor was supposed to send weren't available but I had the reports. I felt rushed and ignored. I was examined like an object with two doctors in residence in the room. When she talked to them about me in third person I asked what it meant. She told me she was talking to them. Then everybody just left the room. After I got dressed one of the resident doctors came back. I had questions. They were 30 min. after my appointment time he said shrugging and left. I had arrived at the appointment 15 min. before my appointment time. The front desk couldn't check me in because of technical problems. I had taken a 2-hour bus for the appointment and didn't get any feedback on my condition. For me what is happening to me is frightening and not knowing how it will… progress, how disabling it could become or if there is anything that can be done to improve my symptoms is very stressful. So I need a doctor who is interested in helping me. Not sure Dr. Langsdorf is not the one.

Dr.Langsdorf was very positive and helpful. She suggested taking some of my medication In the morning to reduce pain at noon. Dr. Langsdorf was very knowledgeable. I would highly recommend her. Alison

Everything was perfect. Revisionist friendly. Doctor took me on time. We went over everything. Would recommend her to others.

She was kind, thoughtful and took time to provide some extra information she k ew would be helpful to me. I have a complex medical history with some serious misdiagnoses by another neurologist and she spent a lot of time in getting this EMG and examination right. I am truly grateful to her for that and would recommend her highly. She has an exact bedside manner.

Dr. Langsdorf is smart, thorough and kind. Good communication skills, too. I highly recommend her.

Dr. Langsdorf was dismissive of my condition and told me for there is nothing she can do and that she cannot help me. In reality, I know there are things that can be done and other members of my care team have been very helpful, engaged and thoughtful about possible options for my condition. She does not display empathy for her patients in my opinion or show she is interested in helping you find answers or solutions for your condition.
