I would agree VERBATIM with the lower star written reviews. I only write this so others don’t find themselves feeling alone and dejected after a negative interaction with Dr. Litton. It is critical one feels cared for by their oncologist — it improves outcomes, adherence to treatment and a vision for the future.

Md Anderson cancer center has outstanding physicians. Unfortunately Dr. Litton is not one of them. She has terrible bedside manner, she is reluctant to answer questions and concerns of the patient. Her visits are extremely brief compared to the other physicians at Mdanderson and at times she is clearly hostile to the patient.Being a cancer patient is emotionally difficult and most physicians at this facility are compassionate towards their patients but she is totally cold and detached. Avoid this physician if you want better care for your breast cancer ,an open dialogue and a physician Who spent more than five minutes with you.There are many other great breast oncologists at Mdanderson.

Doesn't have good bedside manner. I don't believe she provided a good standard of care following me after breast cancer diagnosis, esp within first 5 years. Her care was sub-par.

Only saw her at two of my scheduled appointments in a 6 month period. Distracted with vacations, children and attending conferences.

Dr. Litton does everything in her power to not have to touch patients or further investigate issues. Our biggest complaint, is that during treatment my aunt found a hard nodule in her lymph-node and requested Dr. Litton help her follow up and see if they had missed her cancer spreading. Dr. Litton simply said "no" and no without any explanation, despite repeated attempts on our part to understand her answer. We went to a different doctor outside of MD Anderson (which resulted in a biopsy) and found the nodule was indeed cancerous, and my aunt's treatment was subsequently modified (possibly saving her life). For the time my aunt was with Dr. Litton, we found it nearly impossible to get her to answer medical questions. In person she is dismissive and will outright ignore questions. Over email, questions are similarly ignored. I have never seen bedside manner like it before or since. Also concerning was she forgot multiple details about her prescribed plan between visits. When she made… a mistake in what she prescribed my aunt, it took us multiple phone calls to her staff to attempt to fix things. Litton said it was rude we contacted her about the error. In retrospect, my family's time with Dr. Litton as a complete waste.

I had a terrible experience with Dr. Litton. After Stage I breast cancer & mastectomy, I had a round nodule outside my breast that she didn’t document nor recommend be evaluated. I was told by her and all the doctors I saw that it was scar tissue. A year & ½ after my 1st cancer diagnosis, she transferred my care to be seen by a nurse practitioner without telling me she was doing so. A year & ½ after transferring my care & only being seen by a N.P., I discover the nodule Dr. Litton never evaluated or documented was cancer….. and had been sitting there growing for a year & ½ into my chest wall and lymph nodes. My reconstruction doctor told me it is common to find cancer around scar tissue. Once I confronted Dr. Litton about the mass not being evaluated, she treated me callously and even suggested I needed to speak to a therapist. Dr. Litton is the last oncologist I would ever recommend to a friend or loved one diagnosed with breast cancer. In fact, during the timeframe this mass… was sitting on a mastectomy scar, I saw 3-4 doctors/nurses who never documented the existence of the mass or order that it be evaluated. So not only would I not recommend Dr. Litton as a breast oncologist, I would not recommend the entire breast center at MDA because of their practice of pushing patients off to ‘nurse practitioner care’ instead of being seen by a doctor who attended medical school.
