Dr. Jennifer Sophie Mammen, MD

Best endocrinologist I've ever seen, and I had to leave New York to find her. PS I'm a very educated patient and like to understand the science of my disease, which she explained in detail. So inspiring that my kid, who took me to the appointment, made his own with an internist. Even young healthy students need their own internist! I have multiple health issues including Hashimoto's, and was concerned about the safety and efficacy of my prescriptions and how they interact.

REally awful, she seemed really nice at first, but very nonchalant about my possibly having thyroid cancer. She was also supposed to get back to me about f/u but never did, wasn't once but multiple times. I am really alarmed that a doctor would be like this at JHU, does not care about patients and obviously like professionalism.

I hope this doctor finds new work, she was useless to me. My PA has been a better doctor. It's sad really. I feel as if she did not listen to anything I said. My wife was there and agrees. My PA ordered a more complete battery of testing. DR Mamman left out several important tests that showed positive results. When provided with the outside test she ignored the evidence, She also ignored that my symptoms were side effects of medications (prilosec) and lept to the conclusion that I was suffering from depression. Not only did she rush to diagnosis without sufficient evidence, she projected her conclusions angrily and with what I felt was a condescending attitude. Bound her bedside manner (rude) her lack of knowledge of the side effects of meds I was taking massive doses of daily and willingness to leap to conclusions along with her capacity to then project her rushed diagnosis upon othersâ??it's dangerous, She is not a psychologist and her advice is essentially arm chair psychology an… -- her time would be better spent researching an extremely rare and usual patient's problems rather than exceeding her professional boundaries. Sick-get help.

This doctor is the worst Endocrinologist that I have ever seen. She is unbelievably arrogant and short with her time. Her knowledge of Endocrinology and how all the organs work together is nothing short of incompetent at it's worse! Find an other Endocrinologist but not in The John's Hopkin's Medical System as all of the Endocrinologist there, I have discovered through my research and experience are horrible.

I first saw Dr. Mammen during her Fellowship at JHMC. She specialized in pituitary disease in the endocrine clinic. My care under her was life-saving, and life-altering all at once. She is caring, an endless font of information. She moved to a private practice, graciously taking me with her, and I bless that day as well. With her professional abilities and human values, I have not felt better in over 20 years. Good luck getting in to see her (it can take weeks), but when you do get in, be prepared for thorough, caring, and utterly right all the time!
