Dr. Jennifer Matelis is a magna cum laude graduate of the University of Maryland Dental School, graduating fifth in her class. She is a member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society, Gorgas Odontological Honor Society and Gamma Pi Delta Honor Society. During her education at dental school she recieved numerous honors for scholastic performance and exemplary achievement in operative and prosthetic dentistry. Dr. Matelis recived the Nathan G. Gold Award , and the Quintessence International Award.
Dr. Matelis served for three years as Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy Dental Corps. While in the service, she completed a post poctoral degree in Advanced Education in General Dentistry. Her most recent assignment was as dental clinic director at Camp Pendleton Marine Corps Base in California. Dr. Matelis resides in Silver Spring, Maryland with her husband John. They have two wonderful sons,Luke and Matthew.
