Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:I grew up watching my mom pursue her career as a nurse and I would enjoy hearing about all of her experiences; the good and the bad. I knew at a very young age that I wanted to help people and make a difference in their lives. I know first hand how it feels to be the patient and I knew that I wanted to make my patients as comfortable as I could in their present situations. What I want my patients to know about me:I have experience in several specialties of medicine which enables me to have various perspectives regarding a vast amount of disease. I began working as a registered nurse in oncology before transferring to the operating room for several years. I then decided to further my education and career by obtaining my nurse practitioner license and master's degree. I have been working in the specialty of vascular surgery for the past seven years. I treat each patient with compassion and respect; the same as I would want to be treated if I …were the patient. What I do when I'm not seeing patients:I enjoy being outdoors, camping, and taking my dog for hikes. I also love eating, so I enjoy exploring new restaurants and different types of cuisine.
