Dr. Jennifer Ann Northrop, MD

Dr. Northrop is an excellent doctor! She really cares about her patients and takes the time to listen to any concerns you may have. I am very happy she is my doctor. Her staff is excellent as well!

Awesome doctor

I sought a second opinion from Dr. Northrop as Albany Gastroenterology were not accepting a local surgeon's suggestion that I had Sphincter of Oddi Dysfunction (SOD). Dr. Northrop performed a colonoscopy and, because I was crying due to chronic vomiting, nausea, weight loss, pain, and malnutrition, she told me I needed antidepressants and couldn't help me or point me to anyone who could. I lost my job and was 90 pounds, fainting, in severe abdominal pain, malnourished, vomiting, and basically dying a slow death. My husband and I exhausted our savings and sent me to the University of Minnesota to see a pancreatic biliary specialist who did the ERCP, diagnosed me with SOD, and treated me. I later had major surgery (transduodenal sphincteroplasty) by an excellent local surgeon, Dr. Nigam with Albany Med. I am a healthy 130 pounds and lucky to be alive.
